Thunder roared through the night, heavy rain spitting down on the small group of teens, huddled behind a fence facing an old looking construction building.

Raindrops dripped from Aria's matted hair, leaving streaks down her face. She brought her hands up, running them along her face, squinting through the rain.

Her and Pope stood pressed against the fence, JJ and Kie huddled close behind them.

Even through the chaos of the storm, Aria could feel the warmth of JJ's breath on the back of her neck.

"Nice camera. Where'd you dig up that relic?" JJ talked loudly over the thunder, gesturing towards the old-looking camera Pope had clutched in slippery hands. "Why don't you just use your phone?"

Pope turned his head back to look at JJ, glaring at him like he was stupid or something. "Well, first of all, i like my antique electronics."

"Second of all, that's a telephoto." Aria finished for him, wearing a cheeky smirk.

JJ glanced down at her. "No one likes a no it all."

"You seem to like Pope fine." Aria grinned back at him, earning an eye-roll from Pope.

"Whatever." JJ gasped. "What does it do?"

Pope grinned again, enjoying being the smartest person around them. "It allows me to get a close image from far away."

"Lord of the dorks." Kie mocked, raising an eyebrow, her eyes remaining on the construction site across the road, barely visible through the rain.

Pope ignored her. "For definitive proof of witness payoff, we're gonna need quality glass."

Aria zoned out mildly, uninterested until Ward would show up. She'd heard a lot about this Ward Cameron character, and had high expectations for him.

"You doing okay sunshine?"

JJ's softened voice beside her ear almost made her knees buckle, though she refused to give him that satisfaction.

She turned her head slightly to face him, dazed by how close their faces were. If she were to lean forwards an inch, their noses would touch.

JJ stood still, gazing at her longingly, smiling softly at her.

"I'm okay.." She whispered, refusing to let her eyes travel down to his lips. "You doing okay blondie?"

JJ's grin grew ever so slightly. "Blondie?" He whispered, fighting down a chuckle as to not draw attention to them from Kie or Pope.

She nodded slowly, eyes fixated on his. "Yeah.. Blondie."

JJ released a small sigh. "Alright sunshine.."

"There he is!" Kie's urgent whisper caused the whole group to duck slightly, hidden from view by the fence.

Aria peeked through a hole in the fence, squinting against the rain. "And there's Gavin. Showtime."

Pope held his camera up, recording as both men ran into the construction site and up the buildings unstable staircase.

"Where are you going you son of a bitch?" JJ mumbled from behind Aria.

"No, no, no, no!" Pope cried out as the pair disappeared from view. "I'm loosing him! Shit."

"Come on! We have to find a better view!" Kie tugged Aria's arm as the two girls ran, Pope and JJ close behind.

Kiara dragged the Covelli girl towards a ladder, leading up to a rooftop. "Up here! We'll get a better vantage point higher up!"
