By now, you may have discovered one crucial point throughout this book:

Doing good things is not enough. You have to savour it in your mind.

It is like reveries about your first crush, but instead of getting drunk in your romantic fantasies, you immerse your mind in your karmic accomplishments out of compassion.

It is an essential step since your intention weighs more than the action.

So how can I do this special daydreaming thing to speed up good karma?

Meditate on Compassion

Here is a simple ten-minute meditation that helps you do this.

Induction Stage:

This part aims to get your mind into a reverie-like state.

It is like when you think about your sweetest date or favourite trip.

The only difference is that you get into it at will instead of letting it occur by chance. The ability to zone out voluntarily is the prerequisite to directing your mind towards good thoughts.

Bear this aim in mind as you perform the following steps:

1. Sit up straight and rest your hands on your lap. Sometimes the surface of your chair is too soft or not level with the ground. It may help if you sit at the edge of the chair.

2. Remain still. Let your eyeballs relax and roll up naturally, looking at your eyebrows. Try to close your eyes without completely shutting them so that you can vaguely see your nose peripherally.

3. Focus your attention on the tip of your nose. Feel the air coming in and out of your nose. If your mind starts to wander, gently pull it back to your nose tip.

4. As you get more relaxed, try to lengthen your exhalation a little so that it becomes slightly longer than your inhalation. For example, if you inhale for five seconds, try to exhale for six seconds.

Visualization Stage:

This part aims to direct your attention towards compassion.

But compassion is formless. How can you picture it in your mind?

The solution is to recall any episode you have ever genuinely helped people. Go through the memory in detail and relive your inner self-speech and feeling during that time.

Bear this aim in mind as you perform the following steps:

1. As you become more relaxed, think of something you are now looking for in your life. For example, you are looking for a perfect partner you want to marry in the long run.

2. Think of the karmic law. Whatever you do to another, your karma will return a hundredfold or even a thousandfold. Remember to do all these in a relaxed state.

3. Visualize someone who wants something similar to what you want. For example, think of the old lady in a nursing home you visited last week. She wants companionship as much as you do.

4. Imagine a white diamond light inside your body. It is at the heart level and in front of your spine. Imagine this magical light that can give this old lady what she wants.

5. Imagine this white diamond light coming out of your heart, stretching through a line and extending towards this old lady's heart, connecting your heart with hers.

6. Through this light, imagine you are giving this old lady what she wants most in the world, which is also the thing you want most. In other words, you fill her heart with what she desires.

7. Now, mentally remark that you have planted the karmic seed for what you want most in the world by giving it to others. Remain in this state for a few more minutes, and then you can wake up.

Meditation for Forgiveness

You can eliminate hatred and anger with a similar procedure to the above.

The induction stage is identical. Perform the first part as outlined.

Then, during the visualization stage, you imagine someone you hate instead of someone you want to help. You send love to that person and tell the person you have forgiven her.

Here is the exact process of how to do it.

1. Perform the induction as outlined above.

2. Think of an enemy you hate enormously but are trying hard to give. It could be someone who has betrayed you, cheated on you, insulted you openly, or plotted against you.

3. Think of the karmic law. Whatever you do to another, your karma will return in spades. The enemy did those things to you only because you had planted seeds of identical nature.

4. Imagine a white diamond light inside your body. It is at the heart level and in front of your spine. Imagine this magical light that can forgive what this enemy has done.

5. Imagine this white diamond light coming out of your heart, stretching through a line and extending towards this enemy's heart, connecting your heart with hers.

6. Through this light, imagine you are forgiving your enemy, which is what she wants most deep in her heart. You fill her heart with love and forgiveness.

7. Now, mentally remark that you have eliminated the seed of further destruction in your life. Remain in this state for a few more minutes, and then you can wake up.

Unless you are a saint, the hatred is unlikely to disappear overnight.

It is because the emotion is already very deep-seated in your heart.

Do not be discouraged. Try to do it every day for at least ten minutes. You may even rekindle your hatred in the process. It may take a few months to accomplish, but it is worth the effort.

It's because you will escape the hatred cycle and set your heart free.

Closing Remarks

Your thoughts are the most karmic force you have in the universe.

Before you take any action, it must first come from your thoughts.

Meditating on your thoughts alone can affect the outside world in your life, even without you doing anything. It is the most effective way to speed up the growth of your seeds.

Try to do this meditation whenever available, as frequently as possible.

However, the best time to do it is before you retire.

The reason is that whatever thoughts you have before you fall asleep, the ideas get "cooked" in your subconscious mind for hours while you fall asleep on your bed.

Lastly, bear these three things in mind before you help anyone:

1. You are changing the world by being an example. If you succeed in using this system, more people will recognize the power of karma, and soon everyone will be helping each other.

2. Do not be high and mighty for helping others. Instead, be grateful that they let you help them. Without them, you will never be able to plant karma to get what you want.

3. Remember that everyone is God in disguise, so helping them is helping God. "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me," says Jesus. (Matthew 25:40)

Start practising it today, and soon you will see fascinating results.
