"Do you care about it that much?" Helena.

"A bit? It's our traditional rule to follow."

"That sounds great.."

"Really? Some people saw it as a threat because they don't just want one person in their life."

"But I think it's a good thing…" her voice dropped low.
"Because you wouldn't have to share your loved one with anyone.."

Theor went silent for a while before parting his lips, giving her another personal question.

"Did your marriage end badly?"

Anne gasped. It's unbelievable that this guy would keep bugging Helena with sensitive questions. Helena forced a smile.

"It was bad in the middle half… I don't know if the end should be called bad or good.."

"..."

"I was the one who demanded for the divorce but then I couldn't let go of the memories…"

"..."

"It was for the best yet the love I had for him was too great for me to let go of it all at once. Even though he was the one who hurt me… I thought I wanted to see him again… to get back into his arms… because it wasn't as easy as I thought, not having him by my side anymore… but thanks to him for being absent after our divorce… if he wasn't absent.. I'd believe that I would come back to him.."

"..."

"Then I would have to live my life loving him while being insecure about another woman again… I loved him but I was scared of what he would repeat.."

"Was he not a great husband?"

"He was." Helena smiled bitterly.
"Except for the fact that he had an affair. I couldn't even fully blame him for it as I couldn't make him satisfied."

"It wasn't your fault."

"..."

"You did great."

A hand placed behind her head and brushed slowly over her hair.

"Thank you for your kind words."

"I'm telling the truth. You did great."

The silence came in for a few breaths until Helena remembered something.

"Where do you live?"

The unexpected question made Theor stunned but he smiled afterwards.

"I'm not telling you. It's a secret."

"Why a secret again?" Anne.

"Why do you ask? Do you want to come to my house?" He asked teasingly.

"That's because you appear out of nowhere and disappear out of nowhere also." Helena answered in a serious tone.

"Are you anxious that you won't see me again?"

Theor tilted his head, his lips curled up a playful smile. Helena blushed a little. She wanted to keep contact with him because he was the first person outside her family and maids to approach her. Nobody had done that before. Everyone would look at her with hate and mockery.

"That… that is right."

"Do you join social gatherings?"

Helena didn't understand what was the reason why he asked her that but she answered him anyway.
"Not at all.. I don't have friends. It's hard to join social gatherings alone… especially when I'm being hated by everyone."

"If you don't stand up to them, they will walk over you. People hurt the weak. They don't go for the strong ones because they know their words and actions bear no power against them. They go for someone who easily gets scared and insecure, someone weaker than them."

"It's easy to say…"

"Well. You have a family. Go with them. I suggest you join social gatherings more often."

"Why?" Helena looked at him, her expression full of curiosity.

"You'll see by then."

"Will I meet you if I go to social gatherings?"

Because he said he used to travel to the Northern Empire…
Perhaps this man could also be a noble..

Theor smiled.

"Who knows?"

"..."

"If fate leads us? Have a safe trip going back to your hometown, lady Helena."
