The woman was too stunned to be speaking when she was told to apologize to Helena. She glanced at the woman behind the tall and broad figure in nervousness with hostility. When she was staring too long, the king pulled Helena forward.
"Everyone is watching us. Now, won't you apologize?" He asked once again.
"But… the lady was being rude…"
"She mocked me so I said something awfu–"
Helena tried to explain to him silently but was cut off by his soothing command to the other party.
"You tried to throw wine on another person in a national ball party which was hosted by his majesty the emperor himself. This incident you caused, not only that you humiliated lady Helena, you humiliated the emperor as well. The mood is ruined now. That is why I suggested you apologize to the lady. Imagine how embarrassed a lady would get if the wine was thrown on her face? Or was it that you wanted it to happen?"
The woman shook a little, her face became pale as well as her friends in the background. The other people were focusing on them and chatted. What could they possibly be talking about if it wasn't about her making the king's shirt stained and not listening to his advice. So she hurriedly sorted her knees to apologize to Helena.
"I'm sorry.. lady. I was impulsive. I hope you will forgive my rudeness. I apologize for the behaviour and for staining your majesty's shirt as well."
Everyone opened their eyes and the whisper became louder, it made her fall in her own shame. Helena knew it wasn't sincere but since the woman was humiliated enough for people to talk about her behaviour for months, she let it go. Moreover, she wanted to talk to the man next to her more.
"I shall let it slide but there's no next time. I won't stand still if anyone tries to mock me again because I am not the sick and weak woman like before. My health has been cured. However, a sane person shall not laugh at someone's disability which is something they could not control."
Theor smiled a little to himself while listening to her words. The woman clenched her fist tight, suppressing her anger but she didn't dare to say a word in front of the mighty present.
"Your majesty… please let me clean the stain for you."
Helena said in a low tone. She called him as everyone did since people who didn't know about her and Theor would call her delusional if she called his name in front of them.
"Thank you, lady."
The man whispered a thank you to her before taking her hand as the common trait a gentleman should do to a lady. People kept staring at them just like the emperor did as Theor guided the divorced lady upstair.
Went into a guest room, they both sat down. When she made eye contact with him, Theor gave her a childish smile.
"Your majesty, why are you hiding the fact that you're a royalty?"
"Oh my.. just talk casually to me like you did before."
"I can not do that anymore."
"Why not?"
"Because I am aware of your position now, your majesty. I'm sorry for my rudeness."
"Are you mad?"
Helena looked away when he tried to look into her eyes knowing that he would tease her about it. The opened door caught her attention but it was just a male servant of his bringing a new pair of clothes for him to change.
"Your majesty."
"Leave it here."
"Yes, your majesty."
When the servant left, Helena replied to his question.
"I am not mad but your majesty should have told me."
"It's no fun telling people my position. I want to be treated as a normal person as I was out to have fun like the commoners. You wouldn't treat me normally if you knew I was a royalty."
Helena ignored his word and got up.
"I shall leave now so your majesty could change your clothes. I'm thankful for your help too. If it wasn't for you, I would've been a laughingstock by now. I'm really grateful for that."
Theor sighed and touched his forehead. It was hard dealing with a woman's mood, he felt like he started to feel dizzy.
"Talk casually to me."
It wasn't a playful tone that he always had but a firm tone.
"I can't talk casually to a person who I didn't even know his real name."
"Ah.."
He was so stunned that he had to take a deep breath before responding to her.
"Theodore Heisenberg is my name. I'm a king. It's been 3 years since I've been crowned. I turned 21 years old yesterday."
Helena freezed to his self introduction. He was being sarcastic again. The moment he finally decided to open his mouth, he gave her his whole background.
"You may as well list the name of your concubines at that point."
The man bursted out laughing at her clap back. He didn't expect that she was capable of shading someone back like that but she was so wrong with her statement.
"If you want to fire someone back, say it right. I haven't concubine."
"That's…"
She became silent as the man laughed at her. Helena hurriedly ran away when she couldn't win the argument.
"I will leave now."
"Oh no. You will just leave me like that when I come here for you personally?"
Helena who had taken a few steps forward stopped her action and turned around once again.
"Why would you be with the emperor if you came here to find me? You were casually hanging out with his majesty."
"That.. I have political business with the emperor and I wanted to surprise you."
"..."
"I'm also glad that you took my words seriously. You did come to social gatherings like I told you to."
"Because I thought we're friends… and I want to see my friend again.."
Helena responded, her voice sounded a bit stuttering because Theor was yet to call himself her friend.
The man smiled.
"I came here to see my friend as promised too."
