The awakened Helena was dressed diligently to meet her position as the new Queen. They prepared her breakfast and snacks. When the breakfast was done, they guided her to her personal workspace, the imperial office of her own, as the works had been brought to her by Theodore's man.
It wasn't new to her as she had done so much paperwork before, even though it was a little tiring for starters.
When the afternoon came, Luciano ran in the office excitedly."Mommy!"
"Oh my… don't run so fast, Lucian. You will fall." The mother hurried to her laughing son.
He was dressed like a baby little prince. Helena kissed his forehead as they sat on the couch. The handsomeness in this young man was overflowing, even the maids couldn't stop complimenting him. However, he resembled his biological father a lot despite having her hair color. He would go back to their home country soon enough since he was already taking education classes. When he came of age, he would become the heir to Christensen's Douchey. She, too, would get busy with her life as the Queen. They would have a hard time getting to see each other. She couldn't just travel around to see him. Married to the King with love doesn't mean she could just leave her work freely. This is not gameplay.
"Shall we have lunch together?" Brushed the thought aside, Helena asked.
"Yup!"
Then the mother and son were served a luxury lunch. They spent time together as much as they could before parting ways. It wasn't their usual practically parting anymore. This time it was between a country and a country, not just some household to household like back then. Helena felt a little sad but it couldn't be helped. It was what people called life.
She didn't know how she fell asleep. The moment she woke up, she was already in her bedroom and some laughter was heard. Helena got up and watched her only son playing with his stepfather happily. Come to think of it, they got along really well.
"Mommy is awake!"
"Hello, Queen." Theodore looked at her with a smirk.
Helena was puzzled. Why did he look at her like that?
"I'm sorry. I dozed off.""It's okay. I have a great companion here." The king patted the boy's head.
"Mommy! Lucian asked the imperial father about the mosquito's bite on your neck and the imperial father told Lucian that he is the mosquito! How could it be??"
Helena widened her eyes. She looked at the giggling man like she was baffled.
Phach!
"Owwie!" The King touched his shoulder where his wife just slapped and faked a scream. Her little elegant slap didn't even hurt him.
"He was talking nonsense. Lucian don't listen to him, okay?"
"Lucian knows right! Father is lying again! So bad! Father thought he could fool Lucian because Lucian is a kid! Father bad bad!"
"Oh boy. Mommy is the one lying, okay?"
"No! Father is!"
"Now that mommy is awake, Lucian don't stay on father's side anymore, huh?" Theodore asked and tickled the little boy on his lap.
They were in laughter for a while. For a moment, Theodore made eye contact with Helena. They both smiled at each other and suddenly Luciano screamed in surprise.
"Ah father! Lucian can't see anything! Don't cover Lucian's eyes!"
"..."
Helena blushed silently as her lips were swallowed by Theor.
