AN: Okay! I wish I had more votes and comments, but I understand finals are going on for those of you in high school! I'm in college so I'm out of school already!
Sophia's POV:
I've had one week of school. I used to love school. School was great when I wasn't an outcast. I have ADD and it's pretty severe. Alexander's "Christian" School clearly doesn't want to help me out. I started in a regular classroom and they noticed I was having trouble focusing and staying caught up while we took notes. I'd ask the teacher to go back. They found out about my ADD. That's how I ended up in an isolated classroom with three other students who are stranger than me. I want to ask if this is some sort of sick, twisted joke. How can anyone take school seriously when the environment is out of the ordinary? I'm used to being in a big class with desks that face the front. I've made it to high school without being put in the special education class! Why now? Well, we do go into normal classrooms sometimes. We sit at one table that looks like half a doughnut. A woman sits in the dent and makes sure we stay on task. That's not easy when I can't just look up to see the board. I have to look behind me every time I have to write something down. The kids I'm forced to share a table and classroom with aren't exactly popular. That's why I'm an outcast.
I pull my backpack out of the car and start to walk up to the door when my phone rings. I pull it out of my purse and answer it when I see Sarah's name pop up. "Hey, Sa-" I get interrupted by crying. "M-M-M-M-M-Maya w-w-w-w-w-wasn't a true FRIEND!" I'm not surprised, but I keep quiet because I can tell she has more to say. "I think I'm calm now. Okay! I found out she's a compulsive liar. That information made me rethink what she said about Andrew seeing me as just a good friend." I'm at the door now and keep listening as my dad opens it to let me in since my hands are full. "I think I should tell him-" I slam the door as an interruption and start talking. "No! Sarah, don't tell Andrew how you feel." I hear her sniff. "Why though? There's NO way I believe what Maya said about him NOW!" I put my backpack and purse down in the kitchen. "Sarah, the guy should make the first move. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are. I know I'm old-fashioned, but-" She interrupts me again and we talk for about an hour about Andrew and my day at Alexander's "Christian" School.
