AN: Hi! So this is an original work of fiction I am adapting from my...less mature version. I wrote it YEARS ago and it's good, but it needs polishing. I am FINALLY done with this chapter!!! :D Comments PLEASE.

William's POV:

I look around at the people in the park. They laugh and talk about unimportant details of their day. No one comes up to talk to me. I don't expect it. I've never expected it. I sigh and a woman looks over. I smirk and start groaning. Her eyes widen into saucer pans and she runs away. I laugh a bit and another woman hurries past the table I'm sitting on. I get up and start walking back to my house. As I walk through the neighborhood a few dogs bark at me. I'm used to all of them. They always do this.

When I get to my street I immediately spot the moving van in my driveway. I start walking up to the house, but get pulled back by my dad. He motions for me to be quiet and I nod. I make sure my voice is low when I speak. "What's going on?" My dad is about to answer, but a girl comes over to the swing that we are next to. Her brown hair and blue eyes shine in the sunlight as she tests the swing and finally sits down. My dad points to the girl and the moving van. I nod in understanding before looking back at the gorgeous girl in front of me. Her dark hair blows in the breeze and I notice it smells like roses.

Ring! Ring! Ring! The girl digs in her pocket for her phone and looks at it before answering. "Hey, Sarah! What's up?" She pauses as the girl answers and then looks at the house. "Yeah. I just got here." She waits another minute and then bursts out laughing. "What? Are you for real? Ghosts don't exist, Sarah. You know I don't believe-" She gets interrupted again and sighs. "Okay. So the ghost family is from the Revolutionary War? Uh-huh. Sure. What else does it say?" She starts to spin herself as she speaks and rolls her eyes. "Sarah, I-SARAH!!! I don't believe in ghosts." I gulp and look around swiftly. Lamia is nowhere to be seen, but that's not saying much since she's a shade. She could be right in front of me and I wouldn't know it...

"HAHAHA! Okay! Bye, Sarah! Uh-huh. I'll say hi to the ghosts for you." Suddenly, I hear laughing and the girl jumps off the swing. I panic as I realize I was the one laughing and look at my dad. My mom appears behind him with her arms crossed. "That was foolish!" My dad and I shush her as we watch the girl. She swiftly looks around and then spins around. Then she rushes up to her house. My mom throws her hands up in the air. "Great! Perfect! Now what?" My dad walks over to her and cups her cheek in his hand. "It will be okay."
