His Little Flame

When I Was Happy

                             5 Years Ago~

' Keep running, ' Y/N thought to herself. ' Don't stop, not now. ' A demon was chasing her. She ran as fast as she could and it seemed like the demon was right at her tail.

" Get back here! " The demon yelled.
But she didn't listen. She kept running. She didn't stop. Until she fell...
The demon was approaching her and stepped on her back. When he did that, she yelped in pain.

" Please! Don't hurt me! " She said crying.

" I don't listen to weaklings like you. " The demon said with a smirk on his face.

" I'm sorry! I'll do anything! Please! " You pleaded.

" I don't give a fuck. Pretty girls like you, give me lots of energy. And I'm hungry... So just stay still so I can eat you. " He struggled because she was squirming underneath him.

" Stay still you little shit! "

Y/N gasped when she felt a throbbing pain enter her leg. It was his nail. His very long thick nail.

" That should do the trick. " You heard him say before passing out.

' Why am I falling asleep? Even though his nail hurt my leg, that doesn't mean I should be going to sleep. ' She thought. ' He had to have injected something into me! ' And when you were finished thinking about what was happening, you saw flames everywhere. Then you passed out.

You woke up in a strange room. You were clean. She had a fresh kimono on, her hair smelt good, and her leg felt so much better. She saw it was wrapped in bandages.

" GOOD MORNING! "

You saw a man walk in the room with fiery hair, and a big smile on his face.

" Um... Ah, good morning? " She said questionably.

" How are you feeling? " He asked. He sounded concerned when he said that.

" Um... I feel great. Thanks to you. "

" WONDERFUL! " He yelled.

You flinched at his outburst.

" I'm sorry, I'm just a happy person! " He apologized.

" Thats okay. Ah... Do you mind telling me where I am and what happened? " She asked.

" I DO NOT MIND IN THE SLIGHTEST! "

He told you everything. He said once you passed out, he took you to a nearby village and took you to the doctors right away. Once you were taken care of, he took you to an inn.

" Wait... Did you... Clean and dress me? " You said slowly.

" I did not. I had the women here take care of you. " He said calmly.

" Well thank you for all your help... " You said questionably, basically asking for his name.

" RENGOKU KYOJURO! " He beamed with pride when he said his name.

" May I know yours? " He asked.

" Y/N L/N, "

You shook his hand. He was very warm. You felt safe with him, even though you just had properly met.

" Would you like some breakfast?! " He asked happily.

" Umm... Sure, that'd be great. Thank you Rengoku-San. " You said with a calm a smile on your face.

He blushed because you were so calm compared to him. You were so pretty. He got up excitedly, " I'll be back with your breakfast, L/N-San! " , " Please just call me Y/N. " You said.

" Well in that case, you can call me Kyojuro! " He said nicely.

Then he went to get her breakfast. He came back with some eggs and bacon. She ate very slowly. There was awkward silence filled in the air until she spoke.

" Kyojuro. "

He perked up with excitement as soon as she called his name.

" Hm? "

" Do you think I'm able to take a shower? I would like to clear my head and think, I just didn't know if I could because of my leg. " She said.

" Of course! I'll just wait until your ready to travel again! " He said.

She could tell he was a very patient man.

" Thank you. "

He only hummed in response.

So she took a shower, and he waited in the room for me. Once she was done, she applied some medical ointment to her wound, then wrapped it in bandages. She put on her kimono that was washed for her, and walked out of the bathroom.

" Hi Kyojuro, I'm ready to go. "

" Alright then! Let's go! "

Time skip~

They've been walking for hours. She was getting tired. Her leg was also affecting her too. Kyojuro asked her occasionally if he needed to carry her. She told him she was fine. He was concerned, and she knew. But her leg was killing her so she sat down.

" Y/N! Are you alright? Are you sure I can't carry you? I ca- "

I cut him off.

" No. Kyojuro, I'm on my own out in this scary world, there's much more things that are important than my leg. I need to get passed this. I need to- "

Then she was cut off.

" I'm sorry, but you seem like your in lots of pain and I can't take it anymore. "

He was carrying her. He is so sweet. Caring for other people but him.

" Kyojuro, you really don't need to do this. "

" Of course I do! Your injured and I can't just let you walk injured. That'd be terrible of me. " He said, very calmly.

She started to fall asleep in his arms. She was very tired, and she felt bad that he was carrying her. He might've been tired too.

He noticed she kept going in and out of sleep. He held her closer in his chest. It was warm, cozy, and comfortable, so she fell asleep.
