Eric Calder:
"Now remember Demetrius, we are here on business," I told my best friend for the sixth time today. I'd said it about a hundred times since we found out what we were investigating and who. We already knew what the truth was. We knew Josie better than anyone. She didn't fight unless attacked first or threatened.
He simply rolled his eyes at me. I knew he was excited to see her but we were here to do business. When the business was done we could visit then.
We had already talked to the Alpha males and the people who attacked Zaire Decker. The one with the least wounds, Dwayne Hyde, had a broken arm and three broken ribs. He was mostly healed but it still hurt him to breathe.
A she-wolf jumped out of the bushes at us making me jump. Demetrius was as calm as ever though. A man came out and stood next to her slightly defensive posture.
He said, "Can I help you boys?"
I explained, "I am Eric Calder, this is my partner, Demetrius Cameron. We are here to investigate a young woman who attacked five members of the Moon Rock pack claiming it was self-defense." Demetrius and I held out our badges and the guy scrutinized them before nodding slowly.
He said, "Follow me please, the young lady you are looking for is at the pack-house." We started following him through the woods.
Demetrius asked, "Pack-house?" We already knew about it but we weren't aware that they had gotten it approved.
He nodded, "Everyone in our little group considers us a pack and Josephina our Alpha-female. It isn't official yet but we still think of each other as family." I smiled and so did Demetrius. So they hadn't gotten it approved, they just considered themselves a pack. The house came into view and as we stepped into the yard and out of the woods the door opened.
Josie ran towards us and tackled Demetrius into a hug which seemed to shock the boy as well as the boys that followed her out. She was in shorts and a tank top.
He grinned and spun her around with a laugh, "Luna I've missed you, Joe." She laughed and squirmed out of his hold to hug me.
I chuckled, "Happy to see me?"
She yelled, "Duh! I've missed you guys so much it is insane!" A boy was glaring and growling lowly at us from behind her. His look still held confusion as well as everyone else around them.
Demetrius noticed the boy, "Got a problem?"
He growled, "So far, yes, with you." Josie looked back and took a step back into his chest.
She said, "Chill Mr. Alpha, this is my brother, Demetrius, and his very annoying best friend, Eric Calder." The boys look changed from a glare to a shocked one.
He said, "I didn't know you had a brother."
She said with a shrug, "Now you do." He pouted at her and I realized they must be together.
Demetrius asked, "You got a boyfriend?"
She nodded, "He is my mate. I told Dad like a week ago. I figured you knew."
He grumbled, "I'm gonna kick his ass." She rolled her eyes.
A boy that was next to her asked, "Why is your brother here?" He sounded confused.
I asked, "What am I? Invisible?" They all ignored me while looking at Josie expectantly.
There was a boy next to him that looked the exact same as him, "They smell like a pack." He scrunched his nose in disgust.
