Lisa's POV

I went back to our rented house and I knew the girls were already there since all the lights were on and I could hear someone singing using the noraebang machine. By the voice of it, I already knew it was Seulgi who was singing.

I directly went to the backyard where I heard the loud music and there I saw my friend Seulgi singing with Jisoo at her side while Nayeon and Jennie were dancing like they were in a club while holding a bottle of beer in their hands.

My eyes wandered on their own as if it's trying to look for a certain girl but to my dismay, she wasn't outside with them. I wonder where she at. I entered the house and looked for her. To my surprise, she's in the kitchen cooking something that smells really good.

"What are you cooking?" I asked her and despite it being only her back who was facing me, I could sense she was surprised too by my sudden presence.

Irene: Yukgaejang (Spicy beef soup)

"Yukgaejang? Isn't that a funeral food? Who died?"

Irene: No one.

"Not yet." I heard her say but more like a whisper. It brought shivers down my spine again and suddenly I felt my mouth dry. I cleared my throat and looked for something I could help her with.

I saw some vegetables on top of the counter and my guess is she'll be using them for the soup. I washed them thoroughly because Irene can be very meticulous and also I don't want to get on her nerves right now.

After I washed them, I stood beside Irene who was cutting the meat right now, and cut the newly washed vegetables beside her. She still hasn't spared me a glance as I look at her from time to time.

"Ugh!" I grunt in pain.

I guess it wasn't a good idea to get distracted especially when I'm holding a knife and cutting some vegetables.

I saw the blood gushing from my thumb as I tried to stop the bleeding by holding it tight to bring some pressure on it. But then I felt her hands on my now bleeding thumb and dragged me quickly to the sink to wash it.

Irene: Yah! Why are you so careless? Look what happened.

The cold and scary aura she had a moment ago has finally disappeared as it was now replaced by worriedness. I just stared at her as she cleaned up my wound. When the bleeding had finally slowed down, she got a paper towel and wrapped it around my thumb. She turned off the stove and dragged me upstairs.

Irene: Let's go to our room. I have my first aid kit there.

We went inside the bathroom in our room and she unwrapped the paper towel from my thumb. She started cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide before putting a povidone-iodine on my cut. She now wrapped it with a bandage and I just watched her.

Irene: How did you even manage to cut your thumb? It was only the scallions you were cutting.

"I was distracted."

Irene: How can you be distracted? It wasn't even loud and chaotic in the kitchen unlike what's happening outside with the girls.

"I was distracted by your beauty."

Our eyes met and we just stared into each other's eyes for a couple of moments. I felt I was drowning by her light brown eyes. Her eyes are intoxicati—

"Ugghhh!" I felt her squishing my thumb.

"What'd you do that for?"

Irene: I'm stopping you from saying something cheesy again. Let's go. We still have to finish cooking.
