Lisa's POV

This is my second day in the hospital but my last day living as Ryujin, Irene's personal stylist/ assistant. I still haven't seen Irene since I gained consciousness. She hasn't visited me since yesterday.

I know she can't because the shooting is still ongoing. I know she's busy and I understand that she can't come but I can't stop myself from feeling sad. Good thing today is my last day living Ryujin's life and I can borrow someone else's life again.

When I woke up, Rosé was still there. I told her she needs to leave before our 72 hours are over because when Ryujin and the woman Rosé borrowed her life to get their lives back, it will bring confusion to the two since they're not acquainted with each other.

Rosé knows it and so she agreed with me. The doctors and nurses said I still need to stay for a week to fully recover. I felt bad for this kid Ryujin. I hope she can recover soon so she can go back to work. She still needs to earn and save money so she can go back to school.

"Rosie." I said to get her attention as she peels fruits for me again.

Rosé: Hmm?

"Have you ever wondered what our purpose is? Like what's the reason for our existence?"

She chuckled.

Rosé: You really are bored, huh? But to answer your question, yeah. Always.

Rosé: I mean at first, when we started borrowing lives from humans and used it to say the things they couldn't say to their loved ones before they die, I thought that's our sole purpose. To give these people a chance to say or do what they wanted so they won't regret anything before they die. But after a long time of doing that, we realized that we just made it complicated for some of the people they left behind because we found out that some things are better left unsaid. So when we stopped doing that, I started to question our purpose again.

"Did you somehow find an answer to that?"

Rosé: Kinda.

"What do you mean?"

Rosé: I found my own purpose and started accepting it.

"What is it? What's your purpose then?"

Rosé: I think we were created just to experience the life of these humans. To learn how they live, how they love, and how they experience pain. I already found my purpose and just accepted it.

"That's your purpose? Just to experience how humans live and the love and pain that comes with it?"

Rosé: Nope.

"You're confusing me, Rosie." I said as she just chuckled.

Rose: I think I already know how those things feel.

"So what's your purpose then?"

Rosé: My purpose is to follow the one I love wherever she goes just like what you're doing with Irene.

I looked at her and I could see the sadness in her eyes. It breaks my heart to see my best friend or that's what humans call someone very close to them, be hurt. Rosé is very important to me. She's always been there for me since we existed. She's always been, my anchor.

"I wish you wouldn't, Rosie. Haven't you learned anything from me? Look at me right now. I'm lying here on a hospital bed because of love. Tsk. Anyway, what are you still doing here? Shouldn't you be somewhere now, following that person?" I asked as I couldn't hide the displeasure I'm feeling from her response.
