*Michelle's POV*

The police took us to a jail centre where we waited for our trial. However, the judge declared that the crime was so unforgivable that he sentenced us to life without even having a trial.

I don't know why this happened as even serial killers get trials but I decided not to fight back as we had already gotten ourselves into a lot of trouble.

------------------------------------------------------------------

It was March 2023. 6 months being arrested. I was so tired and scared. I would be spending my whole life in this hell hole because I refused to take some stupid pill.

Every time I said this, I felt a turn in my stomach. I would usually read stories that were like this and would laugh at how stupid it sounded but this was reality. I got arrested for doing that.

I heard a tiny scrape and looked at the floor. It was a letter.

Our future selves told us a bunch of advice so we must have gotten out of here.
Erik

Erik had been saying this for the past 6 months and it was driving me nuts.

I know but we still haven't thought of a plan
Michelle

I sighed and leaned my head against the wall.
"Will we ever get out of here?" Rose asked.
Nia sighed, "I don't know, at least we have each other."

I heard some shouting so I turned my head. It was Abdul.
"Do you wanna fight?" he shouted, "Do you?"

He was beating up some random cellmate of his but I was too tired to care. All of us were.
"Abdul," Erik said, "Stop."
Thankfully, he stopped. He probably realised that there would be serious consequences.

I closed my eyes and let myself get lost in thought. I wondered why our future selves never alerted us that this would happen. Maybe because we would know the consequences so we wouldn't refuse. I didn't know.

I sighed and let myself sleep.
