Those years together
I will always cherish them,
Tie them close to my heart,
My mind replaying them when you come to mind.
My love for you was real,
The "I love you"s that were spoken
Held no lies.
Months had passed,
And you found her,
Someone who brings the smile to your face
like I once did.
You once told me I was wrong
That no one would come close to me,
But I knew she would come.
Stealing your heart
And making you forget me,
I owe her
For fixing what I had broken.
Seeing the kisses and smiled between you two
Slightly hurts,
Not in a sense of romantic feelings lingering after our goodbyes
In a sense that
That part of my life is behind me,
That the story between us is so far behind,
Like finishing a favorite book.
Yet it felt like yesterday I said goodbye.
But that goofy smile on your face makes me happy
Knowing it is still there,
No longer damaged by me.
Despite everything we went through,
Despite the ending,
Despite however long ago our time was.
You will forever be my first true love.

Poetry ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
PoetryI've been writing since middle school as a way to convey how I felt. I've kept these in an old composition book that I still keep by me about 10 years later. I suppose it's time to share and hope maybe it will help someone out there.
