"엄마, can we go now?" Keith ran down the stairs, the backpack on his back almost falling off with each step he skipped. His mom was on the couch, her nails clacking against her phone screen as she scrolled on whatever app she was on.

"Yeah, I was waiting for you, y'know." She got up and shoved her phone in her pocket as she put on her puffer jacket hanging on the coat hanger. She opened the door and let Keith out, who was texting the group chat that he was on his way.

She slammed the driver door shut and looked beside her to see Keith giggling at his phone.

"Keith, put your seatbelt on."

"Wait."

Krolia sighed and started the car. She changed the temperature to keep herself and her child warm and looked over to Keith still laughing at his phone.

"KEITH!"

"Wait!!"

She snatched his phone and he clawed his hands out to take it. She pushed him away by his face as she tried to read the text messages.

[keithcantsleep] kinda forgot. sorry about that, loverboy lance.

[LanceMcHotty] i thought you said the nickname wouldn't catch on?

[keithcantsleep] whatever.

Hmm, Lance? Aren't they dating?

"MOM!!" He snatched it from her hand, partially sweating from how strong his mother's grip was. Nothing too surprising for a woman that works out everyday and retired from serving in the military because of his birth, nothing too wild.

He grumpily put his seatbelt on and switched his phone off. She began to move from the drive way as Keith picked a song from her phone, which was connected to the car through Bluetooth. They were at least 15-20 minutes away, so he decided to get comfy.

Keith rang the doorbell, tapping his foot on the mat underneath him. Lance's house looked like the typical family house. Big build, dusk mahogany bricks and Christmas lights already bordering the wide frame of the house. It looked almost identical to the neighboring houses, with bright lights and an overwhelming sense of color.

He heard Pidge's loud bickering, supposedly telling Lance to get the door. He grew impatient as the wait got longer.

Pidge- get your short ass over here and just open the door!!

Keith was about to pull his phone out to text Lance but someone opened the door.

"Hey!"

"Hey."

Keith smiled at Lance as he let him in. He slid his black Converses off and kicked them in the corner with other shoes piled onto the useless shoe rack. He's been there countless times, whether it was for a school project or they just wanted to hang out, so it was normal for him to make/add on to any mess in that house.

Besides, they'd been best friends ever since fourth grade. Well, I mean, they did become distant in junior high, but that doesn't matter.

Keith looked around the house and could see Pidge on the brown couch stuffing chips inside their mouth. They were watching something on the tv, in which Keith assumed to be sci-fi or horror.

"Is Hunk here yet?"

"Yeah. In the kitchen."

They both walked over to the door frame to see Hunk stuffing Oreos in his mouth.
