[December 16]

"Hey, ain't it great to be outta school?" A redheaded boy wrapped his arm around his friend. They both walked before Keith, angering the pale boy since they walked so slowly.

Keith grumbled in his hood. He'd waited for the break long enough.

Keith made his way downstairs and over to the cafeteria. Everyone was screaming in excitement and being reckless to the surrounding objects. He walked out the door to the bus parking lot and found his friend, Lance.

"Hey!!! How was science?" Lance patted the sidewalk beside him, indicating Keith to sit down.

"Boring. I almost fell asleep listening to Mr. Smythe's rant about his trip to Altea for the winter break."

"He's cool, though! You know Coran-"

"Mr. Smythe."

"... Mr. Smythe, is like that! I like him a lot."

"Yeah, I guess."

Keith looked at the two boys that were walking in front of him. The two were leaning on a wall and probably talking about girls. Well, now there was three.

A tall and lavender teen appeared. He snickered and recalled many things in his low voice. His long, ivory white hair seemed to drape below his shoulders. His eyes were like a cat's and his ears like an elf's. Keith hated him.

Keith hated Lotor.

Keith growled under his breath towards Lotor. Lance didn't seem to notice since he was too busy admiring him.

"You ever wondered what hair products Lotor uses? He's like a god." Lance chuckled and returned to his phone. So did Keith, but he still grunted at Lotor from time to time.

After a few minutes, Lance's bus arrived.

"Oh!! Looks like my bus is here. See you... Later?" Lance gathered his items. Keith nodded and Lance wrapped his arm around Keith, squeezing him tight. Keith felt himself chuckle as Lance didn't pull back.

"'Kay, see you, Keith!" Lance pulled back after more than 10 seconds. He yelled as he ran to the school bus parked a few meters by Keith. Lance walked up the stairs, waving at Keith once more. Keith waved again for Lance's amusement.

The bus drove off and Keith sighed. He frowned, for he wanted to hug him for just a little longer. He sat back down and texted his mother about his late bus.

[mother]
Another late bus?

ya. you know the bus driver.

[mother]
He needs to get his head out of his ass and actually take you kids home. Seriously.

mom!!!

[mother]
Am I wrong, though?

no...

[mother]
Okay, see you soon?

yeah, see you.

Keith clenched his phone as he observed Lotor and his friends. He imagined- well, tried- to see what Allura saw in him. What Lance saw in him.

He wasn't sure if Lance was interested in a fucking suck-up like him, but he had his theories.

"Bus 2314!" Keith got up from where he sat and approached the bus. Its distinct yellow color burnt his eyes and the gas stung his nose.
