Chapter 27 : Never Have I Ever

Dressed in black jeans, wearing red chiffon backless top over it with bell sleeves, her straight hair open, Akshara was sitting with her friends outside the resort around a bonfire as they all had decided to play 'Never Have I Ever'.

It was the second day of their trip which till 2 in the afternoon had went touring another B-school and after that, they had gotten lost in the joys of the city. After having dinner, it was half past 10 and they were gathered in a circle on the grass, soaking the warmth of the bonfire in a chilly night of Shimla.

Riya and Neil were sitting together. Rohan besides Neil and Abhimanyu besides Rohan. On Abhimanyu's left, was Asim with Yashal. Followed by Katherine sitting besides Edward and Kiran. And finally Akshara who was besides Riya, completing the circle. In simple words, Akshara was, once again, sitting exactly opposite Abhimanyu.

"Everybody knows the rules but I'm explaining anyway. In turns, a person says 'Never Have I Ever'- something he/she hasn't done- and those who have, would have a shot. Simple." - Edward said and everybody nodded in agreement. Getting excited.

Akshara looked down, feeling nervous. She had never drank alcohol before and didn't want to either.

Abhimanyu noticed her behaviour and looked at Edward. Nodding his head towards Akshara, he shook his head 'no'. Edward understood and added further :

"And if someone doesn't want to drink, they can take a shot of soft drink as well. No worries."

Akshara looked up again. A relieved smile on her face as she placed the shots of soft drink infront of her, along with Yashal and Asim who also avoided alcohol.

"So I'll start. Never have I ever stood someone up on a date." - Kiran said.

Katherine, Edward, Rohan, Asim and Yashal drank making others laugh.

"Never have I everrr... texted an ex out of nowhere!" - Katherine said excitedly.

Except from Abhimanyu and Akshara, everyone drank, making the two laugh hysterically.

"You guys are CRAZY! And Riya youuuu!!!" - Akshara gasped out in-between laughter.

"Oh shut it!" - Riya said, blushing profusely. Making her laugh harder.

As she gained control over herself, she wiped the tears from her eyes and went for her turn.

"Never have I everrr... been sick on my friend or someone else." - Akshara said, her eyes glinting as she looked at everyone.

Everyone except from Abhimanyu, had a shot.

"OH MY GOSH!" - she exclaimed dramatically, making faces. Once again, loosing herself in peels of laughter.

She looked to be having the happiest time of her life and seeing her like that, settled something deep inside Abhimanyu. He couldn't help the smile on his face while staring at her. Her happiness was contagious. And he sent a silent prayer above, for her to remain like that forever.

Happy and carefree.

Regardless of her being with him or not.

"Okay my turn!" - Riya said, breaking his trance. "Never have I ever pulled an all-nighter."

Except from Akshara, everybody drank. Including Abhimanyu.

"Never have I ever broken the law." - Neil said.

Abhimanyu rolled his eyes while gulping down another shot.

"Never have I ever kissed someone." - Rohan said.

Abhimanyu and Akshara froze. Their gaze locking.

How could they forget. They were each other's first kiss.
