Jinx Hargreeves was born on 13 August 2005. An abnormal birth as her mother wasn't pregnant the morning before. She was adopted by Reginald Hargreeves and became a part of the Umbrella Academy, little did she know the adventures awaiting her. End of...
Five entered the kitchen, heading straight for the fridge. The others followed him, Diego carrying Jinx, still unconscious. "What are you doing?" Luther asked Five, looking at him curiously. "Making a sandwich? Do you know how long it has been since I ate solid food?" Five said and asked at the same time. Five opened the fridge but Luther slammed the door shut again. "You look horrible by the way," Five remarked as he opened the fridge door again. "It's been 17 years," Luther said to Five. "Where have you been?" Five dragged a stool closer to get the peanut butter. "It's been a lot longer than that," Five said straining as he tried to reach the bottle. He finally got it and resumed his mission of making a sandwich. "What happened to you?" Vanya asked, looking at how he slathered peanut butter all over a piece of bread. "What do you think happened? I decided to test the limits of my time jumping, see how far I could go. Turns out, pretty far."
Klaus nudged Diego with his elbow. Diego slapped him before giving him five bucks. Diego and Klaus were slowly getting Jinx's consciousness back. "Dad always warned me not to doubt my travelling skills. Unfortunately this time I did," he said, placing marshmallows on the bread and then taking a bite of his sandwich. "Christ I needed that-" Jinx gasped out of breath sitting up straight. Everyone was looking at her curiously. Five put down his sandwich and came closer to her. She tried backing away ,but he spatial jumped right in front of her. Diego held her back before she could run away and she gave Diego a frightened look. He felt bad but he didn't let go. These two must meet each other and be done, Diego thought. Five knelt down and looked her in her eyes before speaking. "I'm Five...who are you and how the hell did you get in here?" Five said before looking at Diego still holding her. "I'm Jinx...Hargreeves," she replied looking at the boy, making her eyes glow. He looked exactly like the boy from the videos that she watched when she was younger.
Five turned around and looked at the rest of his siblings questioningly. "There was an eighth one!?" "Dad adopted her after you vanished, thinking he could maybe replace you but in fact he just replaced Ben," Allison said. For the first time that evening Five realised that Ben wasn't there. Five was now leaning over Jinx and said, "What kind of 'powers' do you have?" Jinx stood up and flicked her wrist. She swiped up on the blue light and clicked on one of the charms. She then flicked her other wrist over to Five. For the first few moments her powers still didn't want to work. She kept on shaking her wrist and then suddenly Five got thrown to the wall on the furthest side of the room. He coughed as the impact of the wall hit him. "Not bad," he replied painfully. Jinx felt guilty and walked over to him. "Sorry," she said to him, putting her hand on his shoulder. He looked at her bright blue eyes and saw that she was genuine. For a moment he felt something he hadn't felt in a long time. He walked over to his sandwich and took another bite. "Back to business, how did you get back?" Allison said sitting down across Five. "By projecting my consciousness backwards into a suspended quantum state version of myself that exists in every possible instance of time," Five answered through a mouthful of sandwich. Jinx walked over to Klaus and she stood under his arm. He gave her his coat, thinking that she was cold. She smiled and didn't say anything.
"That makes zero sense," Diego said standing up and making his way to the counter. "It would be if you were smarter." Five took another bite of the sandwich. "Granted, it did take me a little time to work out all the nuts and bolts of it..." "How much time?" "45 years give or take." Jinx looked at him. "So you're 58?" She was starting to wonder if it was too late to be un-adopted from this strange boy. "No my consciousness is 58. My body is still 13. The point is dad said that it wasn't possible, but I did it." Jinx rolled her eyes. She knew all too well what he meant by their father always doubting the skills of her and her siblings. "Where is that old bastard? I want to rub it in his face," he said smirking before finishing his sandwich. "He died...3 days ago," Luther said. "Natural cause?" Five asked. Diego and Luther said at the same time, "Yes." "We don't know yet." The brothers faced each other and growled. Both of them were so stubborn that neither of them could admit that they were possibly wrong. "Well this complicates things," Five said, sighing at his brothers fighting again.
"What kind of things?" Jinx asked. "All kinds of things," Five was getting irritated by this little girl intervening with family matters. "What's today's exact date?" "The, uh, 24th I think," Allison replied. "Of March," Vanya finished her sentence. "Shit," the boy whispered under his breath. He slid off his stool and walked out of the room. "Five what's going on!?" Luther yelled behind him. Jinx walked over and touched the wall where she threw Five at earlier. She had never tried or seen his skill before so this was going to be a first. She took a deep breath and spatial jumped to Five and he was quite shocked to see that they had the same powers. "Uh hi...I don't think that we had the best introduction down there but I just want you to know...I'm as much a part of this family as you are...possibly more. Just because I wasn't here when you vanished doesn't mean that I don't belong or exist in this family," she told him. He took a deep breath, "Listen here, Jinx. I've lost my family once, I won't lose them again-" He was saying before Jinx interrupted him, "Then tell me what's going on! I can help and I know you know that. The moment I threw you against the wall you saw something in me," she said before chuckling, "Hell i'm more powerful than this entire academy together. Father trained me for all kinds of situations, like he did with all of you, so just tell me and let me help you." She said, her eyes becoming flames again, but this time she stopped it. He looked at her in dismay of what she had just said.
For the second time in 45 years he felt something. He wanted to protect Jinx with all that he had inside of him. "Fine, I'll let you help, but promise you will stay safe?" Five looked at her, placing his hand on her shoulder. She nodded and blushed a little. Five blushed as well when he saw that she was blushing. Just then Vanya came up the stairs and Jinx let go of Five spatial jumping into the kitchen. Her face was still red and before she knew it everyone was looking at her again. "OOH!SOMEONE'S IN LOVE!" Klaus shrieked making a heart with his hands. Jinx laughed and slapped his hands so that the heart was away. "Is it true?" Diego asked her. After today's incident he didn't want her to get hurt in any way. Little did he know that was what Five was thinking as well. Five entered his room. It was covered in dust as no-one, except Jinx sometimes, dared to enter his room. "He kept all my things," he said chuckling and looking around.
Vanya entered the room and knelt down beside him, wrapping her arms around him. "What are you doing?" Five asked, looking down at her and his arms in the air. "It's called a hug." "Right..." he said pushing her off and straightening his clothes which were way too big for him. "I may have reacted poorly down stairs. It's a side effect of no physical contact for 45 years." He gazed at her confused expression. Jinx spatial jumped outside his room listening in on the conversation. "I found your book in a library, and read it as well. That's how I found out that Ben had died," Five said breaking the silence. Suddenly Five became angered and neither Jinx nor Vanya could understand why. "This is the wrong time. I came too late, Delores said my calculations were wrong! Maybe I should've just carried the two-" "Who's Delores?" Vanya asked. Jinx was wondering as well. Didn't he just say there was no human contact? Five ignored her comment and kept talking. "There's another option. Someone, or something, pulled me out of the time stream early. Brought me here to this exact moment." Who the hell was Delores!? Jinx was burning to storm in there ,but she was afraid it might upset him. Jinx knocked over a flower pot in her rage and the noise made Five and Vanya look outside. Luckily Jinx spatial jumped before they could have seen her. "Why would someone do that?" Vanya asked as the two of them entered his room again. Five looked out his window, "They know I'm here."
