"I love you."
Those words echoed through her like a distant memory. She closed her eyes and just let her mind take her to where she always went, right to Ava Silva. The brown hair that she adored so much, especially once it was cut short. She still couldn't believe Ava let her cut her hair, even though she had never done it before. Her golden retriever personality that any normal person would find irritating; it was her second favourite feature. Her favourite feature? Ava's big brown puppy eyes which could quite literally force her to commit murder and topped off with everything else about her, Ava Silva was just perfect.
She thought back to their time in the Alps a lot. The domestic life they lived for a couple months amidst the chaos of Adriel and his crazy cultists was the best time of her life. Waking up every morning beside her was probably her favourite time of the day but what she loved...what she missed even more was simply watching Ava. The way she spoke to people with so much enthusiasm, the way her smile could light up any room, the way she moved so naturally behind a bar even though she had never worked a day in her life. Beatrice simply loved Ava. So when she thinks back on that dreaded day in Adriel's inverted temple and remembering what the halo bearer felt like slipping from her fingers into the portal that led to another realm. She couldn't help the small amounts of rage that built up inside. Time was stolen from them by forces well out of their control and Beatrice just wished she had enough time to tell Ava she loved her too; to her face like she had wanted.
It had been exactly two months and ten days since Ava had passed through the portal. The OCS had taken over Adriel's temple and made it into their own headquarters and sister warriors guarded the portal day and night, waiting for their Warrior Nun. Jillian Salvius had set up a small lab down by the portal, studying for any irregularity or any fluctuations that would be out of the ordinary. While everyone was awaiting the Warrior Nun's return, the OCS was expanding even further across the globe. The world seemed to keep turning despite Beatrice feeling completely still.
She had left the order after the first week. The nun had spent every second down by that portal even going as far as to sleep beside it. Until, she physically couldn't be in the same room as the portal. As much as she wanted Ava to come back to her, she couldn't bare to wake up alone anymore. Instead she decided to take her own advice and just 'be free'. She wanted to live her life not to forget but to distract herself from the pain of losing he not only her lover but her best friend.
She started her adventure back in the Alps, staying in her and Ava's old apartment until she moved on to Finland and all across Europe. Chasing new experiences and occasionally helping those who are possessed, she may not be able to see wrath demons but she certainly knows what possession looks like. She checked in with Camilla every once and a while for updates on the Ark, updates on everything really. Whilst it's mostly good news about how the new recruits are moving along and even giving Beatrice small missions to fish out the last of Adriel's devotees, she couldn't bare to hear that Ava was still lost.
As Beatrice opened her eyes and looked out into the busy streets of Berlin, watching people living their day to day lives completely oblivious, she heard that damned voice again, playing over and over like a broken record.
"I love you."
Show it love people! First time writing in a while so I'm a little rusty but go easy on me.
