Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
When Ava and Madison left the room to go find Beatrice and Ava, the halo bearer made a cheeky comment about how she wouldn't be surprised if Mei was knocked out cold when they find them. However when they did in fact find them she wasn't expecting to actually be right.
In the middle of the courtyard on a patch of grass was Beatrice. Stood above an unconscious Mei who had been moved into recovery position. Ava trusted Beatrice enough to know that Mei was going to be okay but she was still stunned by the look of gratification plastered on her girlfriends face. "Looks like you had some fun." Ava commented as she crouched down to do her own little check on Mei before standing at full height before Beatrice. "I will admit, it was rather fun. Although she didn't make it easy for me." Ava grinned and restrained the urge to plant a kiss on her lips.
"So how would you rate her skills. One being she needs a miracle or ten being the people she's up against need a miracle?" Beatrice gave Ava a look. A look which always meant are you being serious right now.
"An eight. She can certainly hold her own in a combative situation with some decent stamina to match. I'd say her only faults is that she fights a bit too recklessly, she knows she good so she gets cocky. Lastly, her attitude toward teamwork is going to be a big issue to work through." Ava nodded along to Beatrice, listening whilst also staring at the way her throat bobbed whilst she spoke. If Madison wasn't there she would've jumped on Beatrice without a care in the world.
"Madison? Could you please take Mei back to her room. She'll be fine, I'm guessing she'll wake up soon so just stay with her?" Ava asked turning her attention toward the sister. Whilst Madison didn't particularly want to spend her time babysitting, she still wasn't all that confident facing Beatrice just yet. She wanted to wait until she could find a moment alone to talk. "Fine. What do I do when she's awake?" Madison asked quietly and Ava told her to send for them before watching Madison pick up Mei and carry her inside.
"How would you rate Madison on your scale?" Beatrice asked when they were finally alone. Ava smiled slightly. "Zero. Only because she hasn't made her peace with you yet. So until then, she's in the dog house with me which she knows." The ex sister warrior smiled before stepping just a little closer. "That a bias opinion. You can't let that dictate your decision. So how would you really rate her?" Ava pouted before sighing in defeat. "She's a challenge but I can definitely say I faced harder ones." Ava said with a smile. One that Beatrice knew all too well.
It was the smile she put on whenever she spoke on her past, Beatrice learnt how to identify that smile quite quickly after they met. She saw it in the food hall at that the Cat's Cradle where they officially met for the first time.
Their unofficial was when Beatrice injected her with a tranquilliser. Ava still torments her over it.
"Well, in that case I'll trust your judgement." Beatrice said after a long moment of silence between them. They had gotten too used to letting their eyes speak for them. "I would say forgiveness is you thing but you're not a nun anymore. Wait, are you still a nun technically?" Beatrice rolled her eyes with a loving smile on her face before pulling Ava closer and into her embrace. She wrapped her arms around Ava's waist whilst the latter settled her arms over Beatrice's shoulders, playing with her hair. Just inches in between them.
"No. I'm not a nun anymore."
"Are you okay with that?"
"I'll confess it's taking some getting used to but I'd say I'm adapting."
"Miss the outfit?"
"Definitely not." Ava let out a giggle and Beatrice responded with a tender kiss to the forehead. "You don't have to worry about me. It's me who has to worry for you." Ava pulled back a little and gave the brit a confused look. "You're the warrior nun and coming up is a holy war where things from another realm will flood the Earth. As much as I hate it, you are our only hope at preventing it." Beatrice spat out quite quickly like word vomit but Ava understood where she was coming from.
"Trust me I hate it too. I never asked to be thrown head first into all this shit but here I am at the front lines with the whole world depending on me. The old me, the girl who just got her legs back would've run but I'm different now. I trust in you, I trust in the team, I trust in everyone's abilities and I trust in myself to do whatever it takes."
"Ava—"
"Wait, please. Let me finish." Beatrice nodded as she began tracing circles on Ava's back to comfort her.
"I know you want to protect me. I totally do because fuck, I would quite literally break the faces of anyone who ever touched you. There's nothing I can do to stop you and there's sure as shit nothing you can do to stop me so I want us to make a promise. A promise that no matter what happens we stick together, I can't lose you again."
"Darling, you'll never lose me. I promise."
"I promise to never disappear again. I'd miss you too much, sugar tits." Beatrice let out an exhale before pulling away from Ava. Who held her right whilst holding back a laugh.
"You just had to ruin the moment."
"I'm sorry I couldn't help myself." Beatrice brought Ava in for a quick but passionate kiss. Stunning Ava into silence. "Neither could I."
Littlest Avatrice filler, next chapter is where I'm going to start thickening the plot. Sorry I've been so inactive I've just been real busy with work and life in general. I try to write as much as possible with the little time I have, even when I do write I write either a chapter in one sitting, or a portion over a week it really does just depend.
But don't worry I won't blue balls you guys I'm still active and I ain't going nowhere until the books are done. Minus my Camren ones, as I explained in the past I won't be continuing those but I might change the incomplete ones to different ships, so let me know what ships you would like to see more of.
Peace and blessings x
