Chapter 3: Bound by Duty

My dad drags me down this long bright hallway all the way at the end. He reaches to open the door handle but then pauses.

"Niall can you cover her eyes please" he says while looking at Niall

"Sure can" Niall says while his body presses behind mine and puts his hands over my eyes so I can't see.

Why is this kinda hot I think to myself. Oh my god I need to stop. He works for my dad.

I hear the door being open by my father and Niall pressing his body against mine so he can move me inside the door.

"You can uncover her eyes in three...two.... one" my dad says in excitedness

Niall's hands uncover my eyes for me to see a huge brand new office. It has grey walls all around with book shelves for all of my work and books. White chairs for my clients or visitors. The desk was black marble and it was so long. The chandelier was gold and had led lights inside of it. And the pictures on the wall were accented with pink.

"Dad is this my office" I say in cheerfulness

"Yes Avery it's all yours sweetie" he says while I run over to hug him

"Thank you so much dad, you are the best dad ever"

"You really outdid yourself Mr. Highland" Niall says in amazement

"Thank you Niall" my dad says winking at Niall

"One more thing Avery" My dad says unhooking his arms from me

"Niall is going to be your personal body guard from here on out, Avery I mean it"

Seriously I have to have a body guard following me around everywhere I go. I know Niall isn't that bad but I don't want to have someone watching me the whole time.

"Dad really, do I have to, no offense Niall" I say while looking over at Niall, who seems offended

"Yes Avery, I need someone with you at all times just in case of an emergency, you know that gang is out there" he says in a serious tone

"Fine Dad I get it" I say while walking around to my view out the glass windows

"Avery I have set you up some papers of the latest news I want you to work on for your articles. You have until 5 this afternoon to write a draft. I have a couple more meetings to attend and then I will come get you to go home is that clear" he looks at me looking out the window

"Yes dad, does Niall have to stay with me while I am in my office?" I ask while turning around to face my dad and Niall

"Avery what do you think my answer is" he says with one eyebrow up

Niall and Me both say at the same time "Yes"
We both look at each other and laugh.

My dad walks over to me and kisses me on the forehead and says his goodbyes and leaves.

"What a great view you have Ms. Highland" Niall says being cocky

"Not good enough for you Mr. Horan?" I say walking over to my desk chair

He watches me and laughs at my comment. I sit down at my desk and open my desk computer to log into it.

"Gosh it is only 11 o'clock Niall"

"You better get to writing" he says while looking out the window

"Is there anyway you can go out into that lounge area and chill there for a bit" I ask him with curiosity

"Oh my gosh I thought you never would ask" he says while walking towards the door, but then suddenly stops right before he grabs the door handle

"Niall what are you doing"
