Chapter 6: Confrontations

I wake up to the sunlight shining through my curtains and realize I am freezing. I turn over and see that Niall must have left in the middle of the night, just as expected. I grab the covers over my head and try to delay as much as possible so I don't have to get ready for school. I look at my phone to see it's 7 o'clock and I have to be there at 8. With all of this body guard crap does this mean I have to take Niall to school with me? I hope not because that is going to be so weird bringing him into class and telling people he is my body guard.

I get up very slowly and walk over to my closet, we have to wear school uniforms. I get my navy polo and my plaid skirt and throw it on. I think these are the ugliest outfits I have ever seen in my life but I have to obide by the rules. I slip on my knee high white socks and my dress shoes and walk over to my bathroom. I really don't feel like putting makeup on today because I am too tired to do so. I throw my hair up in a high ponytail and grab my phone to head downstairs.

I walk into the kitchen to see my dad and Niall watching television at 7 in the morning.

"Oh hey sweetheart, I made you breakfast, it's on the stove" My dad says while his eyes are still glued to the tv

"Thanks" I mumble to him

I grab my breakfast which is an omelet and grab some coffee to make ice coffee. I grab my cup and some ice from the freezer and pour the coffee in the cup and then grab some creamer from the fridge. I go to shut the fridge and Niall is standing right behind the door. He scares me when I shut the door and I jump.

"Niall stop" I say annoyed turning around to walk towards my seat

"Oh c'mon, it was funny" he says trying to get me to laugh

I sit down to eat my breakfast and Niall follows me as well.

"Don't tell me you are coming with me to school today are you?"

He looks over to me and smirks.

"Are you freaking kidding me, Dad"

"Honey it's for your own good, it's not like he is going to follow you around all day, he'll be in and out" he says from over the couch

Wait he isn't going to be following me around all day, thank god. I have friends that I really don't want to meet Niall just because they will think the whole situation is cute. It is not one bit cute, there is a gang coming after my family. I feel embarrassed having Niall follow me around, it makes me seem like I can't take care of myself.

"I'll be stopping in about every hour, I have some other work today so I can't be with you at all times, even though I'd like to be" he says shoving his shoulder into mine.

I know he is joking by him laughing at me.

My dad gets up from the couch and comes over to the island and starts a conversation.

"Hey Avery I have a work meeting tonight so I won't be home until late , you'll probably be asleep. Niall will be here with you so you will be safe."

"Okay, what meeting do you have to attend" I ask with curiosity

"It is a meeting about international affairs, we would like to expand our company"

"That is so cool dad, I'm so proud of you" I say getting up to put my dishes in the sink.

I go to hug my dad and he kisses me on the forehead before he leaves.

I run upstairs to grab my backpack for school.

I meet Niall in the car and he starts the car and drives off.

He looks over to me and smirks.

"I like the outfit Avery" he says looking at me and smiling
