"Okay momma I said okay," Zuri rolled her eyes, Fatima looked at her daughter baffled.
She just walked away.

Zuri had gotten into yet another fight and had a 3 day suspension but still she acts like she doesn't care.

Fatima was starting to believe it was a bad idea moving her to the 9th grade a year earlier. Not because of her grades but behavior.

Zuri has always been an a 1 student, she's always been top of her class and on her stuff.

However the moment she went to 9th grade it changed, she's been in 5 fights since the year started.

Fatima was growing tired of her attitude, "You know what Z, you can stay with your dad!"

Zac and Fatima ended up splitting up about 5 years ago. They were both devastated but it was for the best.

They outgrew each other and kept trying to force a love that wasn't quite there anymore.

"I don't care!" Zuri rolled her eyes, "I swear to God Zuri Makari Taylor if you disrespect me one more time!"

Zuri sat there annoyed by her mothers presence, she just didn't get her the way that Zac did.

"Okay, you got it." Fatima pulled out her phone to call her child's father. "Zachary come get your daughter now!"

"I'm done with the disrespect and the fighting all the shit she does it's stressing me out."

"She acts like she doesn't even care and I'm growing sick of it, come get her please." Zac didn't say anything.

He made a u-turn and was right back at Fatima's house, she let him in and he walked over to Z.

"Come on girl get your stuff." He said to her and she shook her head. "Leave me alone." She rolled her neck.

Fatima bit her lip trying so hard not to strangle her 14 year old daughter. "So what I'm hearing is you want a ass whoopin."

Zuri finally looked up.

- Okay let me be serious 😭, that's what it would've been like if they did break up but they didn't so anyways.

"You did your work too?" Zuri nodded at her moms question, "And ma I had to snap on Ms.Bang today."

"Why what happened?" Fatima asked with a slight laugh, her daughter is so proper so whenever she uses that tone it's funny.

"Cause she gone try to give me a D for A work, I had to make sure she changed that immediately."

"I know that's right my baby." Fatima smiled admiring her beautiful baby girl. "PA!" Zuri yelled for her dad.

He came down in 0.5 seconds, he looked between his two lovely ladies and smiled. "Hey my queen and my princess."

He greeted the both of them, hugging his wife first then his daughter. "Pa why you not helping?"

Zuri gave me attitude, he laughed and muffed her face. "Girl yo mama a strong black independent queen ain't that right baby?"

"Yes it is," Fatima laughed knowing her husband could barely cook, yes husband of course they got married.

3 years after Zuri was born because of Fatima's postpartum. It caused a rift in their relationship and they spilt up.

When Zuri was born Fatima was good but after a month or two she started changing and becoming unbearable to be around.

She was always insecure, and tried to accuse Zac of everything. She always talked down on Zuri and their relationship.

However it wasn't her fault she just couldn't be happy for some reason and she hated that, Zac consoled her but she pushed him away.

She started seeing a therapist 2 weeks after she was diagnosed but nothing changed so for once Zac had to let her go.

He and Zuri stepped away for a year and Fatima allowed it knowing she couldn't properly love her child with the PPD.

Then she came back into their lives on Zuri's first birthday and she was okay, she loved her man and she loved her daughter.

A year later Zac proposed while they were in Italy for her birthday trip. Zuri was right there under the Eiffel Tower with them.

It was magical, they waited 7 months to get married and have been amazing every since. They both decided Zuri was enough.

They loved their one and only and didn't need anymore because she filled their hearts with all the love they needed.

Everything about their family was unmatched, "Ma, Pa!" They both turned to tend to Zuri she smiled.

"Yes love?" Zac asked wanting to see what she wanted, they both stared at her before looking at each other. "Fuck wrong with ha?"

They both laughed then Zuri captured a photo of the two of them, making sure she was in the photo.

"You're so petty," Fatima said once she noticed what her daughter was doing. "I need something for instagram."

They all laughed, Fatima kept cooking before it was all done. They all came to the table and she made their plates.

Zuri decided she wanted to say grace, "Go ahead baby." Fatima said holding Z's hand.

"Dear iceemeout, I just want to yank you for this amazing journey you've taken us on. Our family is one of the best to come from this and I thank you for that. I appreciate you for never letting us down or causing any harm. I love how you gradually ended this book with love. I know many may be sad our journey is coming to an end but there's so much more to come from you. I am thankful and grateful that I got this version of Fatima and Zachary Taylor. I feel bad for them other ones but my family is good so thank you. Amen."

Zac and Fatima stared at her confused at what the hell she was talking about, they looked at each other and shrugged. "Amen."
