A Month Later - Kagome's Point of View

Messages - Temari & Kagome

Temari: Hey, are you and your uncle coming?

Kagome: Yes! But I'm so nervous! 😟😟😟

Temari: Haha! You? A trained skilled yakuza? Nervous?

Kagome: Yes! Your dad gave me a chance to be a secret bodyguard for the night, and I don't want to screw up like what happened at camp.

Kagome: Also.... Gaara-sama would see me in a dress 👗 😳

Temari: You'll be fine! 🙂

Kagome: I never been to these things, too. Going to a fancy school and dealing with spoiled kids is enough for me.

Kagome: No offense.

Temari: None taken. Just treat it like school. Smile, don't bother to complain, eat the free good food, and hang out with actual friends.

Kagome: Speaking of friends, (y/n) has been silent for days now. Are we allowed to talk to her there?

Kagome: This is her dad's charity party to help the volunteers clean the beaches here and stop pollution in the ocean. I don't know if we're allowed to speak to the host's children or not.

Temari: Sometimes you can speak freely. But in (y/n)'s case, based on the media, we may have to wait until he dad lets her go.

Kagome: Do you think her dad is still really abusing her?

Temari: I mean, she did admit to us and said he stopped, but I feel there's still some holes there. Either way, it's her story, so it's her choice to reveal it or keep it to herself.

I hear a knock on the door. I put my phone down and walked to my door. When I open it, my uncle is there in a full suit. Doesn't look right on him, in my opinion.

"Are you ready, Kagome?" He asks me.

"Not yet. Give me three minutes."

I close the door. The second minute, I make sure the shaps on my holsters that are wrapped around my legs are tight. As well also check that there are two knives on my left, and the gun has six bullets. The third minute, I looked through my small purse to make sure I had my makeup, my student ID, and pepper spray for an innocent girl who needed protection type.

The first minute, I check myself in the mirror. The dress was paid by Temari. She told me the party has theme colors to support the oceans. That color is sea blue or different shades of blue. This blue color is too light and elegant for me. Despite being too long, it hides my knives and gun well underneath my upper legs. The accessories go well with the dress but have many cons. The gloves are slippery that it's hard to pick up a phone, the matching heels are hurting my feet like I'm feeling the pain my victims once felt. The sliver headband with a star on the keeps getting tangled in my hair.

'Just for a few hours, Kagome. Remember your mission.'

Yes, protecting Gaara isn't my main mission. The mission the boss gave me is to gain votes from wealthy businessmen. So far, the current mayor and the runner-up are neck and neck. Other yakuzas are pulling their weight to make sure the mayor goes down. Especially, Nikki.
