Chapter 9 - Is It True? (part two)

Kagome's Point of View

"That witch!" Uncle Baki shouts while he banged his fist on his table.

I had told Uncle Baki everything. I ran off to Hokkaido to see the boss for confirmation. I willing joined her game to take down the mayor. Along with our agreement to let me kill Gaara. The upmost difficult training I was in. Lastly, the plan that she agreed to do.

"So the candidate who is running against our current mayor is working with your mother. If he wins, her yakuzas minions, who are working for him, will murder him and plan it as suicide. Then, they'll go after Temari and Kankuro, but only you will kill Gaara." He repeats what I told him, and I nodded. "The election is seven months away. Who knows how many people she had threatened to vote against the mayor."

"The plan I told her was I would attend to the same high school with his kids and be friend them. More importantly, be closer with Gaara. Close enough for him to trust me. Once I am, I would be able to go to their family parties to get his followers to vote against him and sneak inside the mayor's office to collect information. Such as his speeches, what to say or do for the people, and dirt that can work against him." I tell him the plan. "But my plan is really to stop mom- The boss, I mean..."

"Kagome," Uncle Baki said with concern. "I understand you want to go against your mother right now, and I'm extremely thankful that you are telling me this. But is this what you want?"

"Yes," I said without hesitation. "I've always known she had changed. Training me to kill, not allowing me to go to school to avoid being known, ordering me to do things, and-" I stop myself from almost telling him that she forced me into a arranged marriage. "The last nine months with her, I can finally see how blinded I was to not be able to see how unwell she is. She loved me, yes. But she lied to me, took away my memories and childhood, and blamed Gaara for daddy and Ray deaths. I don't know what she would do if she's able to win."

My uncle takes a moment of silence before getting up. He takes his cup of tea and mines and then walks to the kitchen. I follow him there and watch him wash the the dishes.

"So, you'll be attending at their school, huh?" He said while washing the dishes. "The high school they'll be attending will be at the highest level of intelligence private school. It's also where most rich families attend their children to. It's one of the top private high schools in Japan that not everyone can get in. How are you going to be a student there?"

"I did say nine months of training. Four months of physical training and the other six months were studying and making my application forms more presentable. Long story short, I got in."

"Already!? But the semester hasn't finished yet!? How smart are you?!"

"I've been studying in secret. I go to the library and taught myself what i need to learn at the supposed grade level I'm in." I answer him.

"That's good, but now I realized this. Does your mother know you're here?" He asks me seriously.

"Yes, she thought if I play innocent with you that you would take me in and I would use you as well," I answer him truthfully.

"Of course she would think that," he said with an annoying sigh. He turns off the sink and dries the cups with a dish towel. "Just know this; I am your uncle, and their will be rules. Such as, don't leave a mess, don't leave without telling me and that also goes for any missions you have from your mother, if anything happens let me know, and no boys in your room. Understand?" I nodded. "Good. I'll show you where you can sleep."

I follow Uncle Baki from the kitchen to the hall. He showed me which room is his bedroom, the bathroom that I will use now, and his office. Then he finally shows me his spare room. He opens the door and turns on the light. It's nothing fancy, nor is it messy. There's only a small twin size bed, one tall three drawer, and there's a role of boxes on the right side of the room. Overall, the room is clean.
