Old Backstory: Flare hatched in the hands of a trainer. An umbreon was nearby when Flare hatched. Flare was caught, and added to the team. Each day, Flare trained with the umbreon until it learnt quick attack, however, no matter how hard it tries, Flare hasn't been able to use ember. Each time Flare goes anywhere, the umbreon follows it to protect it.
New Backstory: Flare was hatched in the comfort of the treehouse. They saw Tamao as an older brother. Flare wanted to be cool like Tamao, so Flare trained. However, no matter how hard Flare tried, they were unable to learn Ember. Flare follows Tamao everywhere, like a shadow. They've gone sledding together, went to the park, and saw a Sakura Tree. However, there was a zoroark beneath the tree. Flare got a bad feeling from her, so he ran off, causing Tamao to chase after them.
