Yes, this is in fact the sequel to Operation Holiday Cheer. If you saw the teaser at the end of OHC... yeah, it's finally here.
However, it should be noted that while these stories exist in the same universe, Killed in Action is not quite as lighthearted. There are major themes of loss and recovery that are meant to ground this shadowy story of spying, to explore the limits of the characters.
Coupled with violence (including war), non-explicit intimacy, foul language, and other such elements, I must stress that this story is not for the faint of heart or the young. I'm actually considering rating this story as mature. You have been warned.
Now, a few disclaimers:
- I do not own Spy School or its characters, with those belonging to Mr. Gibbs.
- I strive for realism, so be ready for a lot of jargon and perhaps ridiculously vivid details (again, calling back to the part about war, particularly its consequences). I'll provide explanations as needed.
- I have still yet to read beyond Spy Ski School. I know a couple of details from Secret Service, but nothing solid from Goes South or British Invasion. Any details that may come from those books are my own knowledge based on what I've read in other fan writers' works.
- Characters and any events are most likely out-of-character. This is my own take on the universe.
- I do not own the United States Intelligence Community, US Armed Forces, US Department of Homeland Security, Secret Intelligence Service, or any such entities mentioned in this story.
And finally, a massive thank-you to all my readers of OHC, as this wouldn't be possible without them.
