Hindi ko ugaling makielam sa buhay ng iba, pero sadyang ayaw ko lang may mamatay sa harap ko. Not in my eyes. Konsensiya ko pa if ever na may mangyari sa kanyang masama habang nandito ang presence ko.
"Era!"
"Oh ano... huh?" I halted when he called my name. How did he know me?
"Whinch, ikaw nga!" He was about to hug me but I step back.
"Si-sino ka?"
He laughs. Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. Bakit kilala niya ako?
"Lakas ng trip mo Which, kamusta kana?" Tanong niya. Tinitigan ko lang naman siya ng may pagtataka. Whinch? Kailan pa may tunawag sa akin niyan?
"I'm good." Sagot ko.
"Teka sino ka ba?" Sa tagal kong nawala sa lugar namin, halos hindi ko na rin kilala yung mga tao dito.
Pero familiar tong lalaking to kaya paniguradong nakilala ko na siya dati. Isa pa, pinaikli niya yung pangalan ko, ibig sabihin talagang close kami dati.
He smiled.
"Totoo nga, nagka' amnesia ka." He smiled weakly. "Felix Kazimir Jaudines." He then stretch his hand for handshake. I was first hesitant but I accept his handshake.
"Era Whinchel-
"Harlow? I know." He said. Muling kumunot yung noo ko. Sino ba itong lalaking 'to?
Stalker ko ba 'to? O kaya jowa ko ba 'to dati bago ako pumunta ng Manila. I frowned. I was twelve years old back then. So wala pa 'ko noong karapatang lumandi.
"I was your childhood friend." He said.
"Huh?" He chuckles and sat in the floor.
" Before you leave Sitio Quezon, We use to play here... and there." Then he point out the garden near the swimming pool.
I was amaze seeing the Garden. But i am more amaze witnessing the sun starts setting. I am with this man whom I don't even know who. To be honest, I feel secured around him. It feels like I know him for a long time.
I let out a heavy sigh.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" He said. Napatingin ako sa kanya na nakatitig din pala sa sunset. I just nooded and smiles awkwardly. I felt a sudden emotion. My heart starts pounding so fast.
What was that?
"bu-but they often address the sunset as a good bye. I mean look at how beautiful it is." I commented. He nod while still staring at the sunset.
"It's a beautiful goodbye then." He then look at me and smiled. "Oh... Anyway, what's bring you here in the rooftop?" Napakunot yung noo ko, bakit ba to English ng English? Tho he's cool in english.
"Just little suffocated inside." Napahinto ako at saglit siyang sinulyapan. "Ahh ... I mean... You know...just a little family thing." He chuckles.
"Well, let the elders handle their problems." I stared at him. " You don't have anything to do from their decision. Their marriage has been settled, so why needed your opinion?"
Wow! Medyo na hurt ako don. Pero tama naman siya. Settled na yung kasal nila dad kaya 'dina need ng opinion ko. Saglit lang...
"How did you know about the marriage?"
"Huh?" He stared at me in the eye and laughs.
"Just a guess. Besides, you mentioned about family, tito Roland proposed to tita Melody in public. Everyone witnessed it." I heave a sighs.
"Anyway, I'll accom- hinarang ko yung kamay ko sa mukha niya. Tinaasan niya ako ng kilay bago alisin yung kamay ko sa harap niya.
