"Celeste, hold on." Xavier called after Celeste after she had disappeared from fencing class earlier. Celeste ignored the boy and kept walking away. "Celeste, hey!"
"Leave me alone, Xavier." She told him without turning around. She had gone straight to her room after class and changed into a different outfit. Her destination being the woods behind the school. Even if she couldn't leave school grounds- that part of the woods belonged to the school, so she wasn't breaking any rules.
"Hey, wait up." Xavier caught up with her, now being right behind her. Celeste rolled her eyes and started walking faster, but considering Xavier's legs were much longer than hers it didn't do much. "Please."
"What do you want." Celeste snapped, abruptly turning around, almost making the boy run her over, but he managed to stop just in time.
"I just- I wanted to see if you were alright. You seemed very upset earlier." He explained, looking down at her with concern.
Celeste hated the way he worried about her. He was too good to her- too kind. She broke his heart last year, but Xavier didn't act like it.
"I'm fine." She told him and began walking away again.
Celeste practically jumped down the stairs, skipping the last few steps, trying to get as far away from the boy as she could.
But her plans were cut short when a sudden wave of immense pain and nausea hit her. She stopped in her tracks almost falling backwards at the impact. A grunt left her mouth as images rushed through her mind.
It was messy and confusing, but the one thing Celeste knew was that someone was going to die. Someone always died when she had her episodes and the worst thing was that it was going to happen in this school.
Her eyes shot open, the pain fading away, leaving her with a pounding head. Celeste knew exactly where it was going to happen and her feet carried her there faster than she could even realise what she was doing.
"Celeste!"
Celeste ignored the boy, running as fast as she could. She wasn't going to let anyone die, not when she could prevent it. Luckily, the halls were empty, most students being in class. She sprinted through the Quad to the halls that lead to Ophelia Hall.
She stopped at the entrance when her eyes fell on a girl she recognised as Wednesday Addams. The raven-haired girl was staring up at a gargoyle falling towards her and she wasn't making any efforts of getting out of the way.
Celeste stared at her with wide eyes, sprinting over to Wednesday. She managed to pull her out of the way last minute, both landing on the hard ground. Celeste caught herself with her arms, before her full weight could land on the girl and turned her head to the sound of the statue hitting the ground. The gargoyle was broken into multiple pieces, a smaller piece hitting the blonde, who was shielding the unconscious girl beneath her.
She grunted and held her ribs, her eyes falling on the blood that was slowly mixing with the rain on the ground next to her head. Her hand reached for the back of her head, when she pulled away her fingers were covered in blood.
"Shit!" Celeste swore, tears forming in her eyes. She couldn't let anyone else die because of her. Not when she could've prevented it. "Please don't die."
