There was nothing, Celeste Aldridge hated more than school events. Especially, the Poe Cup. It was worse than Evermore's anual Rave'n dance. She never participated in such events, usually staying in her room or her hideout in the woods, but somehow this year, Enid Sinclair had convinced her to join a team. The Black Cats.
Due to two of the original participants mysteriously falling ill the night before, Enid was desperate and the only two people she could ask, who weren't already on the team, were Wednesday Addams and Celeste herself.
She'd be lying if she said she wasn't surprised that Wednesday had agreed to joining the Poe Cup, but there was always an ulterior motive with that girl, so Celeste would find out what the Addams girl was up to sooner or later.
"Thank you for doing this, Ce." Enid said to the psychic, as they stood outside a tent waiting for Wednesday to come out. "I know how much you hate these events."
"You're my best friend, Enid." The blonde replied, turning her body so she could properly face the wolf. "I'd do about anything for you, besides this is the perfect opportunity to get back at the siren-bitch."
Enid gave the girl a look, telling the girl that she didn't like it when she used such vulgar language. However, before either one could say anything, Enids face lit up and her attention shifted to someone behind Celeste.
"OMG, you look purr-fect." The wolf exclaimed excitedly, while purring her imaginary claws. The psychic cringed a little at the awful pun, but didn't focus on it any longer when her eyes met Wednesday's
The dark-haired girl did look good in her outfit and Celeste couldn't help but stare at her in awe. How did she manage to pull off everything she put on? It was simply unfair.
"Only thing, where are your whiskers?" Enid's face fell a little and she glanced over at Celeste only to notice that hers were missing, too. "And yours?"
"Ask again, and you'll be down to eight lives." Wednesday responded instantly, her eyes quickly darting from the taller girl, to Enid.
"I couldn't be bothered." Celeste merely shrugged and walked off, towards the boats, leaving the two behind.
She didn't get very far, before someone fell into step with her.
"Since when do you participate in social events?" A familiar voice spoke up, making her stop in her tracks.
She partially expecting Wednesday or Enid to stand there, but to her dismay it was Xavier.
"What do you want?" Celeste growled, giving the boy a hostile glare. She was in no mood to talk to him, especially not after what happened yesterday.
"Relax, I just want to talk." Xavier held up his hands in surrender, showing the girl that he meant to harm.
"Well, that's too bad, because I don't want to talk to you." Celeste said and turned around to keep walking towards the planks.
"Celeste, please." Xavier held onto her wrist, spinning her back towards him. She pulled her arm out of his grasp immediately, her anger only growing.
"She said no." The familiar monotone voice of Wednesday Addams appeared behind Xavier, making him flinch slightly.
Without stopping, she walked past him and sent him a threatening glare, before grabbing onto Celeste's arm to pull her along.
