I'm not someone to believe in all this 'end of the world' rubbish and meteors wiping out our total existence. I mean just look at all the times it was supposed to happen and were still here. Aren't we?
Today was just another one of those times. Some stupid scientist somewhere thought he'd mention the end of the world and send everyone into a crazed frenzy. It was all everyone was talking about in this boring class. Whilst all I could focus on was the migraine slowly creeping up on me. Outside the sky was the same color of grey it usually always was in the winter months here in England. I still had another 20 minutes till the bell went and as usual I would sit there and count down the seconds till it did. I wasn't even worried about getting an education. I knew I wouldn't need it.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by the sound I had craved so much. I slowly pulled on my black jacket and hauled on my heavy rucksack and made my way out of the building. As I got outside I noticed it was extremely windy compared to when I last came outside. The sky was a rather strange dark grey color almost black in parts. I could hear quiet snaps of thunder rapidly approaching and flashes of lightning in the distance. I felt light drops of rain on my face. I tried to hurry home so I wouldn't get caught in the storm. I was wondering why this hadn't been on today's weather forecast.
I had just gotten through my front door when it really started to rain hard. I removed my doc martens and shrugged of my jacket and made my way into the kitchen when I saw a note on the counter.
"Me and dad have popped out to town quick will be back around 8 dinners in the fridge love mum x".
That meant I had about 5 hours to myself before they got back. I decided to go change and maybe get on with today's homework. I walked up to my room and changed into a pair of track suit bottoms and crop top and watch some tv. I looked outside my bedroom window and noticed how dark the sky had turned and the streams of water flowing across the pot-hole covered roads. This storm was getting bad and I just prayed to myself my that parents would make it back safely.
