A couple of hours later, Maegor and i waited by the gates of the castle for Daemon . He was leaving for war outside the step stones. I was only informed today that he would be leaving but it did not bother me much.
I most likely wouldn't have seen much of him anyways. I waited and waited for him but he was no where to be seen. Ladies and lords passed me and whispered as the saw me waiting there patiently.
I took a sigh of relief as he finally arrived. "Lady wife. I have not seen you since our wedding. But i have heard of all the trouble you and your mutt have been up to" he said without holding my eye.
"Husband it is good to see you" i said with a small bow. "And he is not a mutt. He is a wolf. His name is Maegor."
"Maegor? You can not call your wolf Maegor" he said. "Why not? He seems to act like him. And his fur is the same colour as your hair" i said with a small smirk. Daemon rolled his eyes slightly.
"Why are you here?" he questioned. "I have come to see you off... Your late" i said. "I was busy... And i did not ask you to wait" he said.
"Yes you didn't. But i am your wife. It is my duty" i said. He let out a laugh as i shuffled uncomfortably.
"How long will you be gone?" i asked. "A while... A couple of years or so" he mumbled. "A couple of years?!" i exclaimed. "It seems my brothers council is trying to push me out... And he has listened."
I sighed. "And why is that?" i asked. "You ask a lot of questions" he said. "And you do not answer them. Why are you being forced to leave?" i questioned.
"I stole an egg or two. Killed a few men. And... other things" he said looking at the ground. I gulped. There was rumours that Daemon had tried to marry one of his whores and take her as a second wife, but i did not believe it. But now i believe it to be true.
"I will miss you in your absence" i said. Daemon scoffed. "Alright" he mumbled. I looked around and saw many people staring at us both. I knew what they were thinking.
They were feeling sorry for me. Or whispering about our marriage. I shook of the judgment and leaned up to kiss Daemon, but he backed away.
"I shall see you when i arrive back" he said as he walked away. I heard low gasps and whispers. I was sick of this treatment.
Sick of hearing whispers every time i walk past because of my "dear husband".I marched towards Daemon and forced him to turn to me.
"Like it or not i am your wife Daemon. And we both have a duty. And i am tired of you not doing yours. I will not see you for years and i refuse you to leave me with cunts gossiping about me in the corridors. So you will give me a proper goodbye. And you will make it believable that we are in love."
Daemon seemed taken back by my bluntness. "Do you wish me to cry also?" he asked sarcastically. "I wish for you to kiss me. Actually kiss me" i spat.
Daemon paused before realising i was right. He pulled me into a passionate kiss as everyone watched. I kissed him back and tried to make us as believable as i could.
Once he pulled out of the kiss, he grabbed my hand and placed a gentle kiss on my knuckles. "Until we meet again, my love" he said as he walking into the carriage that left the castle grounds.
"My love."
The words made me shiver. I took a deep breath and realised everyone looking very pleased with me. They all smiled as they passed and i felt a wave of relief wash over me.
That was until i saw a familiar face in the crowd. A face that did not seem as pleased as everyone else. Hurt almost.
Ser Harwin was staring with his big green eyes that were full of sorrow. I tried to keep myself steady as i felt his stare burn into me.
