A FEW DAYS LATER
Despair. That's how I would descibe our walk back to the trailer after the rink a few days ago. No words were spoken, no eyes watered, and much to my surprise, there was no anger. Isaac and Erika had gone straight into the trailer without a single word, while Boyd stayed behind as I showed him around the building. He, out of everyone, felt the most at ease but still nervous from the sound of his voice. It was sudden for all of us, being ambushed by Emma and Dani all the while Savannah watched. But most of all, it was the match that I needed in order to get up the following morning.
Sitting at the edge of the table, scanning my eyes across the make-shift obstacle course I created last night, I watched as Isaac and Boyd tossed, slammed, and punched each other around the room. Tearing apart the little bit of dignity they had left, eventually, they turned their attention to me as I pushed away from the table, slowly walking over to them as they approached the center of the room.
While swinging and dodging their punches, I grabbed and dragged Boyd and Issac by the back of their neck, maneuvering them around each other like a waltz before one of them stumbled out of their routine, and found themselves slammed on the ground. With almost little to no scratches, Boyd gasped and wheezed from exhaustion as Isaac was slumped up against the wall he crawled up against."Does anyone else wanna try not being completely predictable?" I hissed, watching the two of them take a seat as the train cart behind me squeaked.
"I'll give it a go."
Walking out from the cart was Erika, who had been watching our training session from the window, stepped out from behind the dark corner and into the fighting pit.
"...alright, let's see what you got."
Watching her walk back to the beginning of the course, my eyes scanned across the room catching Boyd and Isaac whincing in pain at the foot of the stairs when I hear Erika set for her first run.
"Watch and learn boys." She smirked
"Don't be afraid to use your senses. Threats don't always come in front of you." I added, crossing my arms over my chest.
Taking a couple of seconds to get a feel of the course, Erika had taken her first step up onto the barrel, jumping and pulling at the chains hanging from the ceiling to swing towards the next obstacle. With her speed, she sprinted through the jagged cones before eventually using the hanging chains again to swing across the last leg of the course. But with my eyes keen on how she manuvered around the obstacles, I hadn't noticed a glare coming from the door at the top of the stairs when Erika's body clung onto me and smell of the hair brushed across my cheeks before her lips pressed again mine.
Yet with the sensation of her tongue creeping across the edge of my lips, a voice echoed into the room followed by the faint smell of pine and mint sweeping from the stairs.
"Wow. Is this a training session or sexual assault workshop?" Savannah mumbled, standing at the foot of the stairs with Boyd standing next to her.
"Excuse me-"
"That's the last time you do that." I hissed at Erika as her body fell onto the ground.
"Why? Because I'm a Beta. You told me to use my senses-"
"I doubt your tongue down his throat is using your senses." Savannah added.
"What the fuck is your problem? Why are you even here-"
"I asked her to come."
"What, why-"
"Are we joining your pack?" Boyd mumbled, before my eyes met his.
