Y/N reached the rendezvous point, Carthings and Montague were waiting with a few other members of the regiment.
"Did you find any other supply cases?" Y/N asked as Carthings gestured to three cases piled up. "Brilliant. All right, we'll start building camp here, it's a good position, easily fortifiable."
The present members of the regiment began building a camp, Y/N was working on the briefing tent where mission planning would take place and where they would set up the radio.
"Montague?"
"Sir?" Montague said as he stood to attention immediately.
"At ease, you know how to work the radios or so I'm told, would you set it up for me in that tent, I'll take over on your work here." Y/N said as the American nodded. "And when it's working, let me know, I need to get some orders."
"Yes sir." Montague said as he headed over to the briefing/communications tent and began working on the radio.
"We lost a few good men in the jump." Carthings said as Y/N looked at him.
"I know, and we're going to lose a few more I'd bet before this war is over." Y/N said as Carthings nodded.
"Do you think any others made it?" Carthings asked as he pulled out a cigarette.
"Yes, I do. Now look, the men will be a bit downtrodden when they arrive, so when we're done setting up camp, I want you taking a few our boys here into the forest and looking for more supply canisters, hopefully, they'll have delivered what I asked for." Y/N said as Carthings looked at him with an arched brow.
"Which is?"
"A canister containing enough plain clothes for the whole regiment, with the numbers having dropped, I'd say we should now have two sets of clothes for the most of us." Y/N said as Carthings didn't understand.
"Why would-?"
"Because, if we want to go into town, we can't bloody well go in wearing our uniforms now can we? We're not back home in blighty now, we need to blend in. There's also a canister going to be dropping each week during the raids, containing a weeks wages for the men to use on trips to town, they want to use it in the pub or a local brothel, they can." Y/N said as he finished working on the tent and Montague called him over.
Y/N walked over to him and was handed a pair of headphones along with a microphone.
"Beekeeper to farm, we've found a hive. Over." Y/N said using his code and the line gave two beeps. Y/N waited for fifteen minutes with Montague explaining everything to him until they picked up a transmission.
"Why yes dear, I thought I'd just go and get some tea in an hour or so, I just need to go and get some honey." A womans voice came over the radio as Y/N nodded.
"Organising a date sir?" Montague joked as Y/N looked at him. I'm taken already." Y/N said as he took of his uniform jacket to reveal a plain white t-shirt underneath. "lucky that I've brought my own change of clothes."
Y/N was wearing plain clothes under his uniform the whole time.
"Now, I'm going to go and meet our contact, while you're here, keep on the radio, listen out for any jerry communications, they might tell us something of use." Y/N said as Montague nodded, Y/N went into his tent with his bed that he had previously set up and hung his uniform up, "If any of the others show up, tell em to get to work helping with setting up the rest of camp."
"Yes sir." Montague said as Y/N left to go and meet the friendly spy...
