The planes rattled as nearby Anti-Air fire went off nearby, some members of the Vanguard regiment were saying their prayers, some were thinking of home and their families. Y/N was taking a swig from a hip flask of whisky, he passed it around.

"Take a sip lads, calms the nerves." Y/N said as the flask was passed amongst the men until it arrived back at Y/N who put the flask in his jacket pocket. "Now remember, the rendezvous point is at Montcornet Castle."

They all nodded.

"Okay. You chaps are green to jump!" The pilot said as Y/N walked up to the door and clipped his parachute onto the cord running along the ceiling. As he jumped, the parachute cord was pulled and his parachute was deployed, he looked up and saw three more parachutes deploy, along with a case of supplies that they had stolen the night before, he looked down and could see the trees approaching.

"Bollocks!" Y/N exclaimed as he covered his eyes with one arm and grabbed the knife in his boot with his free hand, the parachute was caught on a tree, suspending Y/N thirty feet up from the forest floor. "For fucks sake!"

Y/N held onto his knife and used it to cut his parachute, falling 30 feet down, tucking and rolling. As he stood up Y/N looked up and could see the rest of the regiment parachuting, spreading out.

He looked out and kept an eye on the supplies case.

"Fuck it, I'll find a weapon after finding some of the others." Y/N said as he began to quick march in the direction of the nearest allied soldiers parachute.

As he walked through the forest Y/N was keeping an eye out for Nazis, making sure to keep his knife handy at all times.

After about ten minutes he came across one of the supply crates. he picked it up and used the ropes from the cases parachute to fashion it into a backpack, putting the case on his back after he took an m1928 Thompson submachine gun with three magazines and a Colt M1911 pistol with two magazines of ammo.

"20 minutes to make it to the rendezvous point. They'll have to make their way there too." Y/N said as he made his way to the castle they would be using as a base of operations. Y/N carried the case of supplies for three miles, making sure to keep an eye out for friendly soldiers and enemies...
