Y/N was awake with Dierdre in his arms as he lay in the bed with her, her head resting on his shoulder as Y/N leaned in to kiss her, giving her a gentle kiss on the forehead.
Dierdre smiled as her eyes remained closed.
"Mmm, Y/N." Dierdre said as Y/N smiled at hearing her say his name like that. "When do you have to go back to your men?"
"Tonight, I need to be at camp to welcome them." Y/N said as Dierdre sighed.
"I wish you didn't." She said as Y/N smiled at her.
"Me too, I wish we could be somewhere romantic, just us." Y/N said as Dierdre leaned up and kissed him.
"If we both make it through this war, we can have that, no matter what your father or mine says, we can go somewhere where they won't find or follow us, get married, and have a life together." Dierdre said as Y/N smiled.
"When we make it out of this." Y/N said as he looked at Dierdre. "It's going to take more than some jerry who likes big men in leather shorts to take me down."
Dierdre sighed.
"There are many who believed the same Y/N." She said as Y/N nodded.
"I promise you... I will make it through this war, no matter how hard I have to fight." Y/N said as he looked at his love, he leaned in and kissed her on the lips. Dierdre stood up from the bed and dressed in a pair of black stockings attached to a garter belt, a pair of black knickers, and a black bra, she put on a night gown and moved to the vanity mirror and turned the nob on the small covers on it, she pulled the covers and revealed a radio hidden in it. She put a headset on and listened to the radio as Y/N sat up and looked out at the scenery outside before he dressed into a pair of boxers.
"Yes sir, I'll convey the harvest reports." Dierdre said as she listened to the orders.
As she put the radio away Dierdre looked at Y/N. He could tell something was wrong.
"Command want your men to help train local French resistance troops." Dierdre said as Y/N looked at her.
"Command doesn't have jurisdiction on my teams missions." Y/N said bluntly.
"Nevertheless, they've ordered it." Dierdre said as Y/N looked at her.
"You know these troops don't you?"
"I may have worked with them a few times." Dierdre said as Y/N looked at her.
"Worked with them?"
"I've passed information along to them once or twice." Dierdre said as Y/N sighed. "Y/N, you could do with their help if you want to make a dent in the Nazi war machine."
"Me and my boys are doing well enough-"
"Oh really? It may have escaped your notice my love but we're currently not surrounded by allied troops are we?" Dierdre said as Y/N looked at her.
"Rome wasn't built in a day-"
"No, but Paris fell in just six weeks, so listen to me and listen carefully, you're going to train these resistance troops and then you and them are going to assist one another in making an invasion possible." Dierdre said as Y/N sighed.
"I can assign one of my men to train them. Montague could do it." Y/N said as Dierdre nodded.
"Good. Y/N... just follow the fucking orders and we get to go home." Dierdre said as Y/N scoffed.
"This war was won by following orders, we'd have won the amount of times we had to listen to the order to stand down in Africa." Y/N remarked as Dierdre looked at him.
"Y/N... if not for the chain of command, do it for me, I have a friend in the resistance, she'll be your main contact." Dierdre said as Y/N nodded.
"Fine, send them to the castle in the forest two days from now, we'll meet them there and guide them to camp." Y/N said as Dierdre nodded.
"Okay, Y/N... be careful." Dierdre said as Y/N nodded, leaning in and kissing her before opening the door and checking the coast was clear before he left, sneaking out of town and back to camp...
