The next morning, I head to Lady Tsunade's office right away, stumbling through the hallways due to my injured leg. Giyuu had pleaded to escort me, but I forced him not to——he's already done enough for my sake. I don't want to trouble him any further.

Even so, I'm beginning to regret my decision of rejecting his proposal.

This hurts like hell.

But I sigh of relief when I feel someone's arm wrap around my waist, helping me to steady myself. Much to my surprise, it's Armin.

"What happened to you, Y/N?" He asks me worriedly.

I had previously intended to keep last night's bad turn of events a secret from everyone, but I guess that plan's going to fail.

"I was out walking with Giyuu when a demon attacked the both of us. It was a lower moon, as a matter of fact. So, now I'm heading to Lady Tsunade's office to see if she can heal me."

Armin's eyes widen as I relay this to him.

"What happened to the demon? Did it get away?"
I softly shake my head.

"No. Giyuu beheaded it."
Armin abruptly stops in his tracks.

"Giyuu took down one of the demon moons?!" He exclaims, "I never knew he was that strong!"
I smile brightly, proud of my classmate, until the two of us continue to move along, nearing the nurse's office.

"Thank you for helping me," I say sweetly, "It means a lot to me, Armin."

He blushes a light shade of pink as a small grin appears on his face.

"Of course," he replies.
Armin is so cute and kind. He's probably the purest soul I've ever met! All he wants is to make everyone happy, and keep the peace between both friends and enemies. Not to mention, he's such a pretty boy.

Soon, the two of us arrive at Lady Tsunade's office and she patches me up in no time, using her medical ninjutsu abilities to heal my wounds in a matter of minutes.

"Be more careful," she pleads, "I hate to see you like this. Demons are extremely dangerous."

I nod in response, assuring her that I'll show caution from now on.

Afterward, Armin and I walk back to class together, laughing happily as we chat with one another.

This feels nice.

———

Throughout the day, everyone treats me extra-special, seeing as I was attacked by a demon the night before. And as for Giyuu, students swarm him, calling him a "hero" and an "inspiration to everyone".

I can't deny it——neither one of us dislikes the special treatment. I'd say it is well-earned, as a matter of fact.

When the school day ends, Eren, who will my designated roommate for the night, approaches me swiftly.

"I feel like I haven't seen you all day," he sighs, "Everyone's been hogging your time."
I chuckle lightheartedly but then grow flustered as he leans in closer to me.

"So, I'm glad I'll have you all to myself tonight."
His breathy words send shivers down my spine.

Eren leads me out of the school building, and the two of us walk side-by-side until we reach a very modernized apartment building. Evidently, he lives on the uppermost floor.

We step out of the elevator and turn the corner until he stops abruptly in front of one of the doors, entering his key into its lock.

It seems that Eren's mother is dead, even in this world. I was unsure of what to expect, considering that Itachi's entire family is alive and well. I suppose they died under very different circumstances, though.
