Her mother was a Fabrikator and her father a Summoner , but she was born a Corporalki, therefore she was didn't quite have the same amount of attention directed towards her. This caused her to distance herself from her Grisha abilities. When she is seventeen she meets a young farmer from Kerch wanting to run away from his responsibilities, this leads into a Scarlett's affair that results in a pregnancy, she learns of his wife and son and second child on the way, this stirs resentment not just towards the farmer but the child she carried as well.
