The Young Lord's Wish: Side 1

The day of the wedding

Aether sprung up from the chair he was sitting in and walked over to his lover.

"And? What happened?" Aether asked quietly, as if he was too afraid to hear the answer.

Childe sighed and responded: "i'm sorry, we were able to find her and managed to tell her about the wedding and the plans, but she said she wouldn't be coming..."

They both looked defeated. "It's okay," Aether said, "it's not like I expected anything different to happened..."

Childe saw how upset Aether was and hugged him tight.

"I promise you, our wedding will be the best day of our lives and the next." Childe said to comfort his lover, as he lightly squeezed Aether in his arms. As Aether felt the warmth of his lover, he sunk into the ginger's arms with a calm sigh.

The day of the wedding arrived and everyone was waiting for Aether to walk down the aisle. All the seats were taken and everyone was waiting patiently. There was a stranger amongst the guest, sitting on the front row, but nobody knew who she was...

Soon enough, Aether walked down the aisle as Childe patiently waited for him on the altar. When Aether passed the front row seats, he saw his sister calmly sitting on a chair. She wasn't smiling, but she wasn't looking grumpy either. She just looked neutral, but Aether knew she ment well. When Aether got to the Alter, it was time to exchange vows.

-Childe's vow:

What a week we have had. The first of many hard decisions we will have to make together, the first of many challenges we will face.

With you, I know I will never have to do anything on my own. This past week has been a true testament to the man you are and the husband you will be. I'd drop everything because I need you.

I knew you were "the one" when I realized that you truly are a better person than me. I admire you and look up to you for all the good you bring to this great big world. You are so blessed with the rare heart of a servant and your thoughtfulness touches everyone's life you are a part of. Your core is one of a kind and I am the luckiest man to get to marry you, Aether. I love you now and forever more.

-Aether's vow:

Ajax, we started our journey over 5 years ago and if you told me then that we'd be standing here today, celebrating our wedding oceanside in front of all of these people here, I honestly never would have believed it. It is truly a dream come true.

Over the past 3 years, we have built the foundation of a loving relationship that I know will stand up to the test of time. Together, we have embarked on amazing adventures and overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. Ultimately, we have gained the love and acceptance of all who matter most to us and the evidence surrounds us here today.

I swear to you that I will continue to dedicate all the days of my life to filling our days with beauty and laughter. I will celebrate your spirit and all of your accomplishments, work to inspire you, and be here to remind you of your beauty and strength. You are my partner, my confidant, my other half, and I will love you for the rest of my life and the next.

They shared a long and tender kiss. Once their lips parted, both men lit up. At the after party of, Lumine tried to leave without having spoken to her brother at all. Luckily, Aether caught her before she could leave.

"Hold on! I have something to say to you!" Aether said as he grabbed his sister's arm.

Lumine sighed heavily. "What is it?" She asked, uninterested.

"I'm sorry, for lashing out at you that time. I know you were only trying to look out for me..." Aether said as he looked down. Lumine finally turned to face her brother. 

"You don't need to apologize. Although our futures don't line up like they used to, you will always be my brother." Lumine said. "I'm not saying i agree with the way you view this world or your  plans to stay here forever, but i want you to be happy." They hugged and made up.

The next day, they left for their honeymoon.
