Chapter 8: Lucy and Karma

Hello, Hello! I'm back after a little hiatus. I hope everyone is doing alright, and welcome back. I just have a few notes listed below to clarify things if you want to read them :)

Notes

Yes, Lucy has a brother; yes, they are sorta like royalty; however, she is not a dragon princess or the supreme ruler of the underworld. Despite how fantastic those are, I want to maintain Lucy's magic the way it is and just develop more on celestial magic as a whole. She may learn a few fundamental spells, but aside from that, Lucy will continue to use celestial magic as her main. As well as have a brother for some spice.

• I feel as if people will wonder why I portrayed Happy this way. He does remind me of a child during these arcs due to his lack of maturity and the way he interacts. It's nothing wrong I just wanted to add this little note.

• Furthermore, I feel the need to briefly explain Lucy and Natsu's storyline for this chapter before all the questions roll in lol. Their story is entirely distinct from Juvia and Grey's because, in contrast to them, they genuinely have a friendship by default and want to repair their relationship as a pair, but Juvia and Grey's do not have that foundation. Nor did their dialogue in the fanfiction correlate with them wanting to have that family/connection back. Unlike Natsu & Lucy who do have that foundation and want to find a way to be with each other again.

In some ways, I understand it doesn't follow the typical arrangement for these fanfictions, however, I don't want to completely wash away that connection they had just so I can use it later in chapters when I can expand on it more to give it that depth.

• The previous chapter was, ahead in the timeline now we're going back to the original which is 3 weeks till it leads up to Juvia and Lucy's meeting.

"Karma"

Lucy sat at her desk, another half-written letter on her desk written to Lukas. Again confused about what to write, If she told him the truth Natus would be dead as Luckas would literally send a section of soldiers to end him. Or he would get all protective about how his baby sister is all sad and in her feelings. As much as she loved her brother, sometimes he was just a tad dramatic and protective. She didn't blame him though she did disappear for 7 years but still.

She sighed, not knowing what to do because her lease was about to expire in another three weeks. The only semi-positive memory she has is of her and Natsu arguing, which eventually led to the rekindling of their relationship. Of course, it only lasted for a brief time because they eventually fell out. They continued to go on missions as a team, but they were never by themselves anymore. Of course, she got harmed or lost her power first, making it necessary for Natsu to save her when they did missions.

Even though it broke her heart, she realized she had to leave her first home. She decided against renewing her lease and would instead leave however the only person that was making Lucy rethink her choice was Happy. She could not bear to let Happy go. Whenever he and Natsu became sick, she took care of them. She was always there for them, so her leaving them hurt even with their tense situation. Her most cherished memories included the duo. Before leaving, she felt she had to do something special with him, to explain to him.

The one person she knew would understand her choice was Levy, even though it would make her momentarily devastated. Levy however constantly assured her that whatever she wanted to accomplish, she could and that she would support her no matter how much it ached.
