The Heartthrob and The Nerd

3 Envious Whispers

Izuku didn't know what to do. He just wants the professor to arrive right away so he can get away from this classroom. A while ago, he is not fully aware of the stares he is receiving from his classmates especially the girls. They are definitely envious. Who wouldn't right? Izuku heard from their whispering voices something about the handsome blonde.

His name is Katsuki Bakugo and he is actually someone they consider as a heartthrob. He also discovers that there are other three students they consider as heartthrobs. Izuku didn't know who the other three but Katsuki is definitely sitting beside him right now and the girls are not very happy.

"What's so good about sitting beside a nerd?"

"Why is he so lucky? I wish Katsuki sits beside me tomorrow."

'You wish.' Izuku thought about it. If Katsuki wants to sit beside one of his fangirls, he should be sitting beside one of them already but here he is, sitting beside a nerd. The nerd who is Izuku.

The envious whispers didn't stop at all, if possible, it grew louder and it seems that they really want him to hear it and for him to know his place. He knows his place though. It's not like he is going to brag about them that the guy they want to be with is sitting beside him. What's so special about Katsuki sitting beside him anyway?

It's not like Katsuki ask him for a date or something. That's just his wishful thinking. 'Wait! Wishful thinking? Is he really wishing for this guy to ask him out? What is he thinking? Is he actually falling for this guy? And for the first time too? First sight too.'

"This nerd needs to know his place. Katsuki is not someone who he can easily interact with. He didn't even deserve to breathe the same air as him."

Izuku is dumbfounded when he heard that. 'Not deserving for what? Breathing the same air? But we live in the same world! Do they want me to suffocate myself so I won't breathe the same air as him. This girls are nuts.' Izuku thought to himself.

"Katsuki keeps on ignoring us everyday no matter what we do. This nerd looks like he didn't know who Katsuki is. He is quite ignorant."

"Maybe all he knows to do is bury his head on his books." Izuku heard them laugh at him. He internally sigh. His supposed to be peaceful first day is ruined just because the school's heartthrob sits beside him.

Don't get him wrong, he didn't hate Katsuki's presence. He just didn't like getting himself involve in famous people and get bullied because he "didn't know his place".

He heave a sigh of relief when their professor finally arrives and the whisperings finally stops. Izuku is finally relieve. Atleast when this ends, he can automatically left this classroom and get to relax on their apartment. The class, the usual, introduction of the topic for now. No complicated things happens in the lesson yet. Izuku didn't mind complicated lessons because he is smart enough to understand.

And when finally the class ends, Izuku's initial thought is to dash out of the room right after his professor but he is sitting at the back so it would be difficult that he is far away from the door. So, he stay seated. He waited for everyone to finally gets out of the classroom before standing up and he is about to go when he heard the blonde speaks.

"Are you not planning on even telling me your name Freckles?" Katsuki asked with a slight smile on his face. His eyes is trained on Izuku's face. The cute face that had him almost swooning.

"A-Ah? You want to know my name?" He asked. He can't even look at his eyes for a long time because it looks so beautiful.

"Yeah, Although I don't mind calling you freckles all the time." Katsuki said with a wink. Izuku slightly gasp.

'Is Katsuki flirting with him? As long as he knows depending on the whisperings a while a go, Katsuki is not a playboy. Yeah, a lot of people likes him but he mostly ignores them. So what is this? Did I really caught this blonde's attention?'

Izuku can't believe it. If Katsuki really is interested in him, he didn't know what to do because he is definitely interested on him. He is definitely have a crush on Katsuki. Although he didn't know  if it is just a simple crush or more than that. It's too early to say.

"Ah...well, my name is Izuku Midoriya." He said then offered a smile for Katsuki.

"Katsuki Bakugo. It's so nice to meet you." Katsuki said and Izuku feels like his heart just skips a beat.

"Likewise." That moment, Izuku knew, his supposedly peaceful college life, will definitely become more interesting.
