Your eyes shifted around the table slowly while you sat between Marco and Ace, holding your cards up to your face to conceal them from the others as they did the same. Jozu scoffed and narrowed his eyes, Thatch held back a stream of cusses, Ace held neutral, and Marco had a small smirk of confidence on his face. You noticed this, but his smirk could not compare to the one you wore well hidden behind your fan of cards. Everyone was exchanging glances now, and that pressured everyone to do a reveal. With a flick of the cards one by one, the division commanders laid their cards down to display their count.

"Nineteen." Ace stated.

"Seventeen." Jozu sighed.

"I broke..." Thatch mumbled.

"Twenty." Marco chimed, flashing a confident smirk around the table.

That confidence was cute. With your smirk now wide and visible you put your cards down on the table with a purposeful snap. Silently you laced your fingers together after you displayed your cards, resting your chin on the bridge your interlocked fingers created.

"Twenty one." You stated proudly, your voice saturated with victory.

"Oh come on!" Everyone groaned, either slamming their heads or fists on the table, or leaning their chairs extremely far back in dramatic complaint. You had been on a vicious winning streak, and this wasn't your first victory of the night.

"I win again boys~" You hummed. "Man, your guy's game is off tonight."

"How?! How do you manage to win at blackjack every single time without fail?!" Marco questioned in frustration. "I thought for sure I had you this time!"

"I guess you could thank my lucky card for that one~" You smirked, picking up one of the cards from the table. You flicked it up between your index and middle fingers, showing the ace of spades.

"You've had that damn card in your hand five times in a row now! How the fuck?!" Thatched yelled in disbelief.

"It's just my lucky card~. It must love me or something." You joked, flipping the card around in your fingers.

Glances were shot around the table after hearing your comment, you being completely unaware of the smirks being casted at Ace while you were focused on the card in your hand. The silence was unbearable, and Jozu broke it with a snicker by accident.

"What's so funny, eh Jozu?" You questioned, attention caught by his snickers.

"N-nothing! Nothing~" He laughed sheepishly. "Hey, how about another round huh? There's no way you can win a sixth time in a row."

That was a well played distraction, your attention grabbed by the offer of a challenge. You leaned forward while Thatch snatched up all the cards, eyeing you cautiously. This made you chuckle, his caution amusing.

"What? You're looking at me like I'm a cheater! Go on, shuffle. I'll prove that my luck is just better than all yours." You grinned, pushing any remaining cards closer to him. "Go on Thatch, get to it~. We're all waiting for your decisive shuffle."

"Watch it bud." Thatch growled, threateningly casting his hand back with a card between his fingers as if he were going to throw it at you.

"Sorry~" You laughed, holding up your hands in mock defense.

There were a couple more shared chuckles at the table before Thatch shook his head and continued on with the shuffling of the deck. He made sure to maintain eye contact with you the whole time, not completely confident that you weren't cheating at all. Every card was under his strict watch, and he made sure to shuffle that deck well, using three different shuffling methods just to make sure you wouldn't end up with that damn ace of spades in your hand like the last five times.
