As I woke up, I yawned and stretched. I winced as the cut in my arm and lip stretched as well.

"How you feelin kid?" Dally asked me as he walked into the room.

"Fine." I replied sitting up.

"So Danny?"

I looked at him.

"I know you may not want to tell me this...."

I sighed. Oh great......

"But I need you to tell me what happens with you and dad after I left."

He walked over and say on my bed as I took a breath.

"Well, after you left it got really rough. Instead of always taking stuff out on you, well almost always, he started taking everything out on me. Dad started blaming moms death and your leaving in my. Once he figured out you left, which it took him 2 days by the way, he beat me and locked me in my room for a day. Then everyday he'd call me names and one day when I didn't come home for a day, he threatened to kill me if I ever came home late or not at all. So one day, I got caught up at school and I got home late. Dad was bust drinking do he decided to hit me with his beer bottle. That's where I got this scar from."

I pointed to my cheek where a small white scar was.

"He almost beat me to death but he passed out before he could. It's never been that's close before since then, which was a year ago, but we've had some close calls..." I stopes and looked up at Dally.

He sat beside me not saying a word.

"Dally?.....Dally please say something."

"I'm so sorry." He said in a whisper

"What?"

"I'm so sorry." He said louder. "I never should have left you alone. It's not your fault that I left it that mom died ok?"

I looked down

"Ok Danny?" I heard Dally say more sternly and I shook my head.

"Listen kid." Dally got off the bed and knelt in front of me. "It's not your fault that mom got killed ok? So stop thinking that. You didn't know that that's train was coming and there was nothing you could have done to stop it."

"But there was. I could have listened to her. She told me to get off the tracks multiple times and by the last time it was to late." I said quietly as a tear rolled down my face.

"Exactly. It was to late. Now please stop beating your self up about this. It hurts me every time your like this and I feel like there's nothing I can do." Dally stood up. "Now come here." He opened up his arms and I rushed into them.

"Now don't go tellin the boys about my soft side you hear?" Dally asked as he let go.

"What ever Dall. Now get out so I can change."

He looked hurt but left any way and I could here him laughing.
