Velaena hadn't been very close with her cousins, Rhaena and Baela, she rarely saw them and the only time she did was when they had a family reunion. She had always admired their mothers beauty.Laena was a mesmerising woman, so when Velaena had heard the news of her death she was very upset.

Velaena always thought that she was lucky with her name, especially since her name could be shortened to laena like her aunt. She also rarely saw daemon.

Velaena had heard of the rumours that had happened between her mother and daemon when they were younger but never thought it could be true.

Velaena and her family had traveled to high tide to attend laena's funeral. She knew her cousins rhaena and baela would be distraught with their mothers death and wanted to help as much as possible.

They had arrived in high tide and the funeral had begun. They were speaking high velaryon and velaena only understood a bit of it. After they were done her coffin was dropped into the water.

Tears were streaming from rhaena and baela's face. The cold air making their cheeks Rosie red. After the funeral everyone was either eating or talking with one another.

Rhaenyra approached velaena with a soft smile. Although her mother had not said anything towards her velaena knew what her mother was asking.

Velaena had spotted her cousins sitting on a bench all alone, isolated from the people. She approached the girls and gave them a warm smile before hugging them.

Velaena was only a year older than the girls but she couldn't imagine what it was like to loose her mother. She took out two cupcakes from her pocket and gave one each to the girls.

It had managed to put a small smile on their faces and soon they were all giggling and smiling.Although velaena rarely saw her cousins every time she did she would make up for lost time.

She told the girls about her marriage to prince aemond in a few years and they were not impressed, but they agreed it could have been worse.

Rhaenys walked over to where the girls were and velaena stepped to the side allowing the girls to hug their grandmother. The once happy faces turned into tearful sad faces.

She could hear the girls tell their grandmother how they miss their mother and do not want her to be gone. But at last, that couldn't be undone.

Velaena had left the girls and started to wonder around when she noticed aemond and aegon talking while staring at helaena.

She always hated when someone would be picking on helaena and always stood up for her.

She over heard aegon call helaena weird and how he didn't want to marry her. Before she could say anything aemond jumped in.

"She's your future queen, show her some respect" he spat out looking aegon up and down with a disgusted look.

"Is someone scared that when it finally comes to have children that your performance might be a little hmm" velaena stopped then smirked.

"Small shall I say?" She looked down at his pants. Aegon's face flustered red and he grabbed the nearest wine and chugged it before storming off.

Aemond had a small laugh plastered on his face. He knew that velaena had a temper and always liked seeing her humiliate somebody.

It had only been a few weeks since she got the news of her betrothal to aemond, and he had already started making an effort to be nicer to her. He would make an effort to say hello to her every time he saw her, but of course she still was upset with the whole idea but she was slowly coming around to the idea of it.

She walked off and stood at the end of the ledge. She saw her father leanor kneeling into the ocean overwhelmed with grief.

Daemon was stood next to her and he couldn't stop staring. She had wanted to ask him about the rumors between him and her mother but she held her tongue.

"Hello daemon, i would say it's nice to see you but not under these circumstances" she smiled hoping to make conversation.

"you look exactly like your mother, and you're so mature" is all he managed to reply back. He also gave her a small smile but that was until king Viserys walked over.

"Hello daemon, velaena" he smiled turning his attention from her to daemon. She knew that the two didn't get along so good and had only stayed to make sure things don't get heated.

"the gods can be cruel" Viserys spoke. Daemon gave him a look then spoke.

"Well it seems they've been especially cruel to you". Velaena let out a small chuckle before remaining quiet.

Viserys had offered daemon to come back to kings landing but daemon declined it rather harshly then left. Velaena saw the way her mother stared at daemon knowing she still loved him.

Rhaenyra walked over to Luke and jace and told them to go to bed and to tell velaena too. Viserys shortly walked over to alicent.

"I'm going to bed aemma" Viserys said flustered not realising it was alicent. His knight corrected him and told him it was alicent not aemma but he continued to walk.

Alicent walked off in the other direction passing velaena. She knew this would be a perfect time to say something especially since alicent embarrassed her mother.

Velaena stopped alicent in her tracks and spoke up to her. "Seems your own husband couldn't remember your own name, how does that feel bitch?" She spat glaring daggers at alicent.

Alicent was flustered and her cheeks grew red in embarrassment. Velaena never intended to embarrass one, let alone two of the greens today but she wasn't complaining.

Aegon was drunk passed out on the stairs when Otto had found him. He scolded him and took him to bed. Soon after leanor returned from the sea drunk and stumbled to his bed too.

Jace,Luke and velaena had gone to bed like their mother had asked. Velaena was sharing a room with her cousins rhaena and baela. She didn't mind it especially since she could bond more with her cousins.

Rhaenyra had followed where daemon went and she shortly found her self walking along with daemon on the beach. she discussed how laenor and her marriage is an act, and how she has more to loose.

" did you love her?"rhaenyra questions turning to daemon. he gives her a look and she knows he did. the dark grey clouds start to gather as they just stare longingly at each other. Their bodies inch closer to each other and they share a kiss. They continue their affairs in a tent they find close by.

There was a screech coming from the dragons that particularly interested aemond. He walked down the steps onto the beach. he continues to walk down the beach until he spots vhagar sleeping. Laena use to be vhagars dragon and now she is gone she is unclaimed.

Aemond approached the beast seeing that her saddle was still left on. He had decided he was going to try and claim vhagar even if it killed him. He touched the dragon and she instantly woke up growling at aemond. She opened her mouth ready to scorch him in flames when he spoke in high Valerian.

She closed her mouth and retreirted from burning him. He then grabbed the rope attached to vhagar and began climbing her. He sat on the saddle where laenor once did. vhagar then tried to shake him off then she took flight.

Rhaena,baela and velaena soon noticed that someone was riding vhagar. Anger flushed over the girls faces as they saw the dragon take off.

Vhagar and Aemond were now in the Sky. Aemond did everything in his strength to stay on the dragon. Eventually he managed to get her under his control and they were soon gliding through the air.The once dragon-less boy was now in possession of the biggest dragon.

The girls had gone to wake up jace and luke to tell them how someone had claimed vhagar. Jace woke in a flustered panic and they began to investigate who could have taken vhagar.
