Her world was frozen still, there was no way. No possible way this was happening especially to her of all people. But the pieces start to form together in her mind, the tightened clothes, the sudden hunger and the feeling sick constantly.
She couldn't breathe, it had felt as if her throat was closing up and all the air was slowly being sucked from all of her lungs. And that's when her vision began getting foggy and all these what ifs clouded her mind.

She wasn't ready, she was too young. It wasn't even her 16th name-day yet and she was with child. It couldn't be, it just couldn't. She was too young, but looking at her ancestors she was old compared to them. Her grandmother Aemma started baring children at the age of 11, Helaena was 13, so when you put it into that perspective Velaena was rather lucky to only just now beginning to have children.

"Velaena?" A distant voice called her but she was too wrapped up in her own thoughts to notice. She was still sat next to Alicent and only a few moments had gone by from when she had released the news but how it felt like a lifetime. She sat there, not wanting to talk or even accept that fact that she was now with child. She didn't want this, any of this. The marriage, being left at the red keep and now being told she was to have a babe. Everything that she never wanted happened all within a few moons. Her life felt as if it were going to crumble apart.

She got up and left abruptly not speaking another word to Alicent leaving her silenced. It was known that Alicent could have bared the news a lot better than she did, especially knowing what it was like to be a young girl who had everything happen to her which she never wanted. Even the Maesters would have been a better option in the way of telling her. Aemion was stationed outside the queens chamber waiting for Velaena to be finished but seeing the startled princess run out of the room clutching her stomach he knew something was wrong.

He chased after the princess calling out to her every few seconds to see what was the matter but she couldn't bare to tell him, not with their past and mainly because she still didn't believe it was happening. She stumbled a few times, her legs going faster than she ever thought they could until eventually she tripped and fell to the floor where she remained. She didn't want to get up, she wanted to lay on the cold concrete for as long as she could. "Princess" Aemion sighed helping her to her feet although it was not her wish, she got up.

"I need to see Helaena" she spoke out, her lips had formed into a frown. It was a habit of hers, whenever she was sad her lips would form in a big frown and that's how Aemion and a lot of her family could tell when she was not happy. "She's in her chambers princess" he answered back linking his arm with hers, he knew she needed that extra support. And he knew that if she needed Helaena then that's who he'll take her to. Helaena's chambers were a while away, up two staircases and through many hallways but eventually they got there and Aemion took his place on guard outside her chamber before velaena slipped through the door.

"Velaena" the quiet princess said almost shocked to see that she was out of her own chambers and in hers. But it caused a smile to plaster on her face. She hadn't remembered the last time the two had properly had a chat, just the two of them like they did when they were just children. She missed it, she missed velaena. But then she saw the frown painted on her face and knew it wasn't for a good reason. Velaena was clutching her stomach when Helaena's eyes fell to her hands and stomach, and she knew. She too had the same news when she was only one and three. It was a mother's instinct if you will. But unlike Velaena she didn't have a reaction, not a happy or a sad one. She and Aegon were told that this was their duty so she had expected it in a way.

But ever since they were children Helaena knew that Velaena never wanted to marry unless it was for love or even have children. She wanted to be a great dragon rider, not forced to have her womb stretched out in order for her husband to have heirs. She knew they wouldn't be her children, yes she would birth them and they would have her blood but they would be seen as her husband's children not hers. She wanted to be different than all of the other Targaryen women that came before her, she wanted to go down in the history books as the greatest dragon rider not an Heir provider. And Helaena always believed that she would be, she had never expected her to bow down to the same expectations as everyone else. But then the betrothal came to prince Aemond and now the babe followed.
