———————————————————A watery silence filled her mind, it was so peaceful..it was so lonely. She floated in and endless void. All was good until..a voice echoed. Calm and mysterious it was indeed saying something like..
It's your destiny to lead us all
For we will follow you anywhere
Any soldier would die for you
It would only take your command
Let us serve you, fight for you
Eternity of loyalty we owe you
Do remember this our warrior
It was him, the man who her life was cut short by. Opening her eyes and looking around she saw she was back on that stone slab 500 years ago. The slab laid upon a temple with cheering supporters gathered below. The dagger was sharp, the hand that wielded it was strong. She waited for the memory to play out the way it always had but something was different. The man..the man was crying, tears flowed out of his eyes like a faucet left running. The unsettling part was the fact that the tears were not clear, it was blood.
"You failed us" he wept "How could you have failed us?", Eren slowly sat up confused. "I'm..I'm sorry" she felt a wave of guilt wash over her, "We trusted you, you were supposed to lead us to victory but all you did was insure our death" he motioned towards the ground.
What once was a ground cheering crowd was now a mountain of rotting corpses. A tsunami of blood flooded the streets, leaving everything it passed in a horrid red state. "I didn't know, I promise I tried" her voice cracked, "Then why are we all dead?" He faced her.
His eyes were now solid black, pale and deathly skin replaced the lively one. "You were supposed to be the light in the darkness but all you do is bring death and despair" he grabbed her shoulders roughly "Do you hear us child! Do you hear your people's cries!".
Her chin was forcefully grabbed, that deathly pale face was too close to hers. "You are the most selfish leader to ever have lived!", tears streamed down her face as the screams of everyone below filled her eardrums.
"No no it wasn't my fault, I was a child!", the man raised his hand and slapped her hard across the face. "You were supposed to be more than that!", she sniffed to keep the snot from falling.
This was the worst nightmare she's every had, it almost felt worse than the real memory it's inspired by, she thought that this was hell until a light shone on her. "Eren!" It yelled, why did it sound so familiar to her?. "You will never be loved!" The man hit her again, "Eren! I need you!" The light shine brighter, instead of hearing the screams of her people all she could focus on was the light. How warm and loving it felt.
"You a not the child of a god, but of evil!" This time he didn't get to hit her, for she caught his wrist and glared while smiling. "I died for you, I rose for you. I had a right to be angry for what you did to me!,..and I forgive you just like I should forgive myself" she proclaimed while shoving him away.
She reached her hand up towards the light, then it all went dark again.
"Eren!" Namor yelled, still free falling from the sky. Due to the shift in winds they were going to crash on the beach not the ocean. He swung his weight so that his body would shield hers, bracing from impact he squeezed his eyes shut.
He felt hands wrap around us waist and tug him hard like a elevator abruptly stopping. Opening his eyes he was amazed at the sight, beaming wings flapping and gliding in the wind.
Eren chuckled at his large eyes, "Did you miss me, Tlasotepilli?". He sighed and nodded not being able to get the words out. She carried the merman, who could still fly, up to the aircraft. The floor opened to let them in, she set down Namor. "Eren!" Both men yelled as the tackled her in a hug, she giggled squeezing them back tightly.
