“I'll sweep you off your feet, and make God regret he left an angel behind.” - Allan Chan

“Sammy! You better get your lazy ass up, or I’m going to call your father!” His mother’s sloppy voice echoed all throughout the empty hallways of the old house. Sammy groaned and rose to his feet groggily, wiping sleep off of his face with each step towards the stairs. He was more tired than usual for some odd reason, and he didn’t know why. Confusion was rearing it’s ugly head a lot lately in his life. Oh, well.

He made his way down the descending and creaky staircase before standing in front of the vile woman he called ‘Mom.’

She had an upturned face, as if she was always sneering at his appearance. Or maybe she just always was, whatever made more sense. Anyway, that morning she seemed extra snippy and debatable. “Samuel, I see you’re still not dressed?”

It wasn’t meant to be a question but it came out as one. Of course, his mother still didn’t know he could talk, so she continued ranting to herself. “Honestly, couldn’t you just be a good little rat for once? Do as I say, maybe cut your hair? And while you’re at it, take out those ridiculous looking piercings. I don’t know why your father even agreed to those, they look absurd.” Sammy glanced at his pale feet while she rambled. Why did she always have to come down on him with insults? It wasn’t like he deserved it, nor needed it.

Of course with Nathan in his life, maybe she was jealous.

Sammy waved the thought away silently. His mother didn’t know he had met Nathan, let alone that he was in love with him.

Whoa, Sammy in love with Nathan? That was quacked. But…was he? Sammy concluded that he had a little crush on the boy, nothing close to love. He lied to himself then and there.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and before Sammy could move quickly enough to get it, his mother was swinging it open excitedly.

            There, stood a glowing Nathan.

He was more beautiful than the day Sammy had met him. His hair flowed like rays of sunshine reflecting off of silk, and his skin held a radiance that Sammy couldn’t identify. Nathan’s eyes were as sparkly as ever, and he was decked out in a red plaid quarter – sleeve button up shirt with black jeans. Ray Bans completed the look, and Sammy suddenly got self conscience.

Him, standing there in nothing but blue pajama bottoms, his hair amuck, his coloring dull. Only his eyes were lively.

Of course, to Nathan, Sammy looked gorgeous as usual.

“Hello.” The woman he guessed to be Sammy’s mother greeted a little too brightly, fixing her hair in the process. Oh, brother. He knew that look of desire hidden in her eyes, and though he liked trouble, he didn’t want to get involved. It was Sammy’s family, for fuck’s sakes.

Nathan took off his sunglasses to greet the woman, but his eyes were transfixed on Sammy’s slumped form standing behind his mother like a lost puppy. What a peculiar sight. “Hello. You must be Mrs. Falkton?”

She nodded, “Yes, but you can call me Eliza. And you are?”

He held out a gracious hand, “Nathaniel. Nathaniel Lewis Kanin.”

She giggled like a love struck teen, “Nice to meet you, Nathaniel. So what can I do you for?”

“I was looking for Sammy.” He explained, to shoot down her dreams.

“Oh.” Her fake smile faltered. “You want my son. May I ask what you need from him? He is, after all, a child.”

Nathan mentally rolled his eyes. This chick was on some serious drugs if she thought he wanted anything to do with her. “I was hoping we could walk to school together, being in the same class and all.”

            “Oh, you’re a student…?”

            “Evidently.”

She nodded, all traces of politeness gone. “Okay, well I don’t think he’s ready yet. He really is lazy in the mornings.”

Nathan’s blood boiled. How dare this bitch talk about Sammy like that? Sammy wasn’t lazy at all! He recognized that he was taking the joke too far, but he was a demon, what else is to be expected? “I’d be happy to wait for him, if it’s no trouble.”

Her eyes told of a different story, but her lips spoke a sullen word, “Yes. It’s no trouble.”

            “Okay, thank you.”

He let himself in and stood facing the boy in question. Sammy didn’t say anything, but his eyes said it all. With one shaky breath, he let his secret out. “You didn’t forget.”

At that, his mother whirled herself around to face him, “You can talk?” Sammy and Nathan nodded at the same time. “Well, when was I going to be notified of this, Samuel?”

“Excuse me.” Nathan interjected, “I’d hate to interrupt, but we do have to be to school in like, a half hour. Please, if you will.” He motioned for Sammy to go upstairs as his mother raged. Sammy began the descent up the path he came with a smile on his face.

The boy with the golden hair had saved him from the wrath that was his mother.

I don't know how I feel about this one...I guess I wanted you guys to finally understand what his life is like, though it gets worse, believe me.

ShoutOut to Sammy Muhfuhckin(: (The real Sammy) You have helped me through this story so much this far, and you deserve credit too. JS(:

Oh, and also, sorry for not really updating a lot on my other stories, but I will, trust me, okay? Tomorrow you'll get a HUGE chapter of In A Loving Way, and this one<3

Also, I'm thinking about sequels and such, and here's what sequels I have planned:

TOS (Otherwise it wouldn't be called "series")

Bleeding Nights (debating it)

Immortal Embrace (I love this story, and it will live on, with good reason(:)

Summer's Light (I really love this)

In A Loving Way (you guys seem to like the story line, so I'ma keep at it)

Last Words...(I can't squeeze all I have planned into one story!)

All Angel, No Wings (when you read the ending you'll know why)

There won't be sequels to a few though, such as:

Tremble (I see no reason to continue it after this book)

Tormented ( I don't even really like this story anymore..)

Losing It (Read the ending, you'll know why)

Heartbroken Suicide (because he's already dead and I see nothing to write a sequel on)

And of course, there is the stories I have yet to start:

Playing With Pieces

The Lovesong Writer

The Gravedancers (based on the movie)

Okayyy? So bear with me, I'm pretty busy. Love you all Xxx
