Mikey made sure that everything between them would remain strictly business until Senju got over her fear of him. It had to.

He could not risk it. Not yet.

Bzz... Bzzz.

The vibration of Mikey's phone made him focus again, why did he keep getting lost in his thoughts? It wasn't smart, after all, he was trying to help Draken make sure Miyumi would be safe, and he was dazed? He wondered why he was like this.

Taking his phone out of his pocket, Mikey checked his messages, surprised to see Senju had texted him right as he was thinking about her.

From; Senju♡: 'Takeomi and I are not on speaking terms at the moment, if you or Draken have something to say to both of us in person, you will have to contact us separately for the time being. Our disagreement will not affect tomorrow's commanders and vice commanders meeting, we will be professional when needed. Please inform Draken as well.'

Mikey looked at the message with furrowed brows. If she wasn't with Takeomi, where was she? Was she at least safe? Was he safe? He didn't dare wonder what they fought about, as he was there for some of it.

He sighed as he forwarded the message to Draken, not wanting to verbally speak about it yet. It was Miyumi's birthday, he should let her enjoy it without their gang business.

Senju rested her head on the back of the couch, finally able to relax. She'd been stressed lately. This was nice.

Just as she closed her eyes, she felt a flick on her forehead.

A vein popped out in her forehead. "Whaaaaat??" She asked, tired of being exhausted. Wakasa sighed as he sat in front of Senju.

"What's up this time?" He asked, causing Senju to sigh and sit up.

She held her head in her hands as she spoke. "Same as always. He got pissed for something that was reasonable, I talked back, he acted like he cared, and I left." Wakasa nodded, knowing that this had happened many times before.

Each and every time, Senju had come to him. And he didn't mind it. She was like a genuine little sister to him, and it pissed him off to see Takeomi treat his own blood relative the way he does. As long as Senju had a roof over her head, Wakasa was content. It just so happened it was his roof.

Senju looked over at him, running her hand through her hair. "You know what's fucked up? He agreed with me when I told him I knew he didn't give a shit. If he's gonna pretend he does, he shouldn't be so brutally honest." Wakasa had known this too.

In fact, Takeomi himself had told Wakasa that he didn't care for Senju or Haruchiyo as much as he should. He knew he wouldn't be able to take on the role. But he still did because he didn't want them going to an orphanage.

As Wakasa had slowly seen the darkness of the Akashi household, he agreed that he should've just sent them to an orphanage. They'd have probably grown up happier and healthier, and they wouldn't have this type of betrayal of a blood relative rooted deep in their brains.

It was known that Takeomi was a shitty person, that he didn't really care about either of his siblings, and that they could drop dead for all he cared, but there was still that sick audacity deep inside Takeomi's brain that made him pretend to care about Senju. It was disgusting how fast he could switch.

Wakasa and Benkei had seen it with their own eyes. He could go from cussing Senju out to saying something along the line of, "I'm trying to do what's best for the gang" or "this will stress you out less" when in reality, he was just trying to get her to shut up.

It infuriated Wakasa and Benkei, but they could say nothing. They werent a part of the Akashi family, they had no right to say anything about the way their 'friend' had been 'raising his siblings.'

After what had seemed like just mere moments, Wakasa had realized Senju needed rest.

She'd been exhausted, not having slept properly since she left her home a day prior.

"Tell me about it more in the morning." He said as he got up off the couch, Senju nodding.

In a few moments, Senju texted Mikey, telling him vague details of the situation at hand. Whatever was going on between Takeomi and Senju would be strictly personal and would not effect business matters. She'd made sure of it in the past. She can do it again.

Looking down at her phone again to read the new message, Senju felt odd.

'Tomorrow's meeting will be in the same place as the first. If the situation gets worse, let Ken-Chin and I know. Are you safe?' From: Mikey =)

She texted back almost instantly, but didn't provide much information.

'Yes, I'm safe. I don't think I'll need your help.'

Senju didn't like the way she'd texted Mikey. It made her feel like she was being unreasonable. But part of her felt it was necessary to remain strictly business partners with one another. She didn't even think she wanted to be friends.

Possibly in the future, but for now this will have to suffice.

Deciding she could do nothing worse for now, Senju put her phone on the coffee table and lay down on the couch. She could finally rest.

Rest.. she'd only not slept for twenty-nine hours, but Mikey had been awake, as far as she could tell, for at least three days. She'd wondered if he'd gotten the opportunity to rest too.

If he did, would he have seemed livelier? Happier? Would he seem like he actually wanted to be alive?

She couldn't help but question these things.

She just wanted him to be okay, it made her feel less guilty for talking to and texting him the way she does.

But.. why was she so caught up on him? Why was Senju thinking of Mikey in this moment?

It was.. odd?
