Hospital News

The girls finally arrived back at the hospital, and passed out the drinks and food. Senju gave Draken his change from his and Mikey's drink's, but he didn't want it. He told her to just keep it, since he might forget it in his pockets, he doesn't like to keep change in his wallet. She kept it and finally sat down.

The group was feeling better now that they had eaten, but there was a conflict.

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!" Mikey and Draken said in unison, battling over the last chicken sandwich. Senju bought three extra ones, she and Hinata split one, and Takemichi ate the other one.

"Ha! Paper beats rock!" Mikey said happily and he grabbed the sandwich.

Draken smiled, "Alright you won." He admitted.

Mikey split his sandwich in two, as evenly as he could, and gave half to Draken. "I was gonna give you half if I won, I just thought a game would be fun." He said, before taking a bite.

Senju and Hinata smiled. They were glad Mikey seemed to be doing better in this situation, and Draken, too. He'd been quieter than usual, and zoned out for hours.

After the group had finished their food and threw their trash away, the doctor came back out.

He stood in front of them, not so anxious this time. "Miss Sano's surgery was a success, she is alive and is expected to wake up in a few hours. Everything went smoothly."

For the first time, Mikey's friends saw him cry, he cried tears of relief and joy, happy that his little sister is alive.

"Thank god, Emma" He whispered, holding his head in his hands.

The group was happy, but Draken had some questions. "How long will it take for her to recover? Will she need rehab?" He asked, his tone serious, but his face happy.

"Yes she will need rehab, it is only supposed to take a few months, and she will need to stay for a week while her incisions are healing. After she wakes up, her brain will think in slow motion, so when you talk to her, be patient and speak slowly." The group thanked the doctor and then he excused himself.

Hinata smiled while hugging Takemichi, and crying into his shoulder. "I told you she would be okay!" She said as Takemichi hugged her back. "I know, Hina-Chan, I'm happy she's okay too." He said, stroking her hair.

Senju walked over to Mikey. "Are you coming back after the fight? I'll be here with Hina-San and her brother when it's done." Mikey had almost forgotten about the fight.

He nodded, remembering Senju will be there, but only her and Takeomi. They were the only ones they needed. Mikey then realized something. "You guys need to get going, you need to get dressed and meet there." He said, hurriedly rushing off Senju and Takemichi.

Mikey and Draken stayed behind. They were told they could go and see Emma while she was still asleep, so they did.

They knew it would be fine to be a little late. Toman could handle itself without them for a little extra time.

As Mikey entered the room, he felt a mix of emotions, Emma laying in the hospital bed with bandages around her head made this all too real. He was glad she was okay, but seeing his little sister like this hurt him... he knew how Emma felt when he was in the hospital now. He never wanted to make her worry again.

Seeing Emma's resting face with the blood cleaned off of her made him feel overwhelmed with relief. The last time he saw her, she was dying. Now, the hospital had saved her, and she was living.

Draken broke the silence, "Did you call your grandpa and tell him yet?" He asked, staring at Emma. He knew he wouldn't be in the hospital when she woke up, but he would come as fast as he could.

Mikey shook his head, he pulled out his phone and called his grandpa.

"Hello? Manjiro, did something happen?" His grandpas asked worriedly.

Mikey smiled. "Yeah something happened. Emma's surgery worked. She's going to survive." He heard his grandpa's sigh of relief on the other side of the phone. Along with a shaky breath.

Mansaku breathed slow, calming down. "Thank goodness. When will she wake up?"

"She's supposed to in a few hours, give or take. It depends on when she's ready." He explained, hoping his grandpa would be here for it.

Mansaku said he would be on his way in an hour or so, which would be after Mikey was gone. He hung up the phone shortly after.

It had been a while since the fight started, Takemichi was beat and bloody, as he always was, and no one could handle Izana, all he could wonder was, where is Mikey?

Angry had cried and took down a few guys, but in the process got injured, along with Hakkai, and Chifuyu was losing his power too.

Sanzu had betrayed Toman, but had not fought anyone. He stood and observed the entire time.

After a while, when Toman was losing, Mikey and Draken had shown up.

Mikey knew Izana was legally his brother, as Emma had reminded him recently. He had also found out he's the one who tired to kill Emma, basically. Even though Kisaki was the one who hit her. Mikey wouldn't let that go.

As the fight with Mikey and Izana started, Mikey was sloppy, not landing his blows, and for a minute, everyone thought Izana was stronger.

Though, it was realized that Mikey was trying to help Izana during the fight, he was trying to save him. This angered Izana, he became sloppy too, leading Mikey to start winning as he gained his prowess back. Though he wasn't at his best, as he hadn't gained back full range of motion with his ankle.

Kisaki tried to shoot Kakucho after he didn't follow an order from Izana, but Izana stepped in front of the gun getting shot 3 times, while Kakucho sustained less damage from his wounds.

Izana fell to the ground, realizing these were his last moments. Kakucho was on the ground too, holding his hand, for them to both die together.

Mikey walked over to Izana worried about him, Izana smiled painfully and asked, "Can you save me now, Mikey?"

That night, only Izana had died. Kakucho had survived, and Mitsuya and Smiley broke out of the hospital, unbeknownst to Mikey.

After the fight, Mikey felt a sense of grief from Izana's death, he'd known of him, but had only spoken to him twice before the fight. Even so, he was still his brother. It still hurt.

As he was heading back to the hospital, around 11PM, he noticed Senju walking beside him, she seemed upset, which of course, anyone would be watching someone die.

Senju was thinking about Sanzu, how he'd betrayed Mikey, joined another gang, but didn't fight in it at all. She didn't understand his goal, or what he was doing any of this for. All she knew was, Sanzu could no longer be trusted, which he wasn't by her anyway.

She wondered how Mikey felt with so much going on, his sister almost dying today, his adoptive brother dying today, and now being betrayed by a friend. Also finding out what Mucho did recently.. it was all so much.

How was Mikey handling this? He was handling it because Emma survived. He felt his world stop when he thought she would die, but now, he realized that as long as he has his friends, Emma, and Senju, he might be okay after all.
