Prompt: Someone is afraid of heights and the other is a menace
————Kokichi grinned and looked out at the edge of his seat, bright fluorescent lights flashing all around him and Kiibo as the Ferris wheel proceeded to take them higher into the air. Kiibo sat close to his side, holding onto the handle with a death-like grip and his face looked nervous.
"Aw, you're not scared are you?" Kokichi teased, turning to the side to see Kiibo staring straight ahead and shaking the cart around in the process. The slight movement caused Kiibo's eyes to widen slightly, answering Kokichi's question in the process.
Kiibo huffed, "No! I'm just...concerned about the stability of this thing." He darted his head to the side and peered over the ledge cautiously. It was amusing to see the robot attempt to lie to him.
The supreme leader was still draped over the edge of the bar in front of them, and leaned back quickly, causing the cart they were in to rock even more than before. The slight squeak of the hinges was not loud enough to cause concern, but as they rose higher and the cart swayed backward slowly, Kiibo glanced at him both cautiously and suspiciously.
That totally wasn't on purpose but the look on the robot's face made him wish it was.
He blinked at him, an innocent smile taking over his face, "Don't tell me robots can be scared of heights."
Kiibo turned to him fully now, his chest puffed in false confidence with a small grin on his face, "Of course they can, we're just as capable as humans!"
The shift from scared to prideful took Kokichi by surprise, especially since his eyes now shone with the satisfaction of proving Kokichi wrong. Looks like he'll do anything to shut down any hint of 'robophobia.' Of course.
"Why'd you go on the ride then?" He questioned and then he gasped dramatically while placing a hand over his mouth, "Kiibo! If you wanted to have an excuse to be close to me you could've just asked!
Kiibo scowled at him, blushing slightly at the accusation, "I'm here because you dragged me here!"
Kokichi shrugged, "Same thing."
Just as Kiibo was about to respond, the wind moved the cart once more, causing him to snap his mouth shut and close his eyes quickly.
Kokichi rolled his eyes, looking back out of the edge only to see they were approaching the top. He could see the fluorescent lights flashing from rides, the height making everyone look like tiny ants. As the cart above them reached the peak, Kokichi tapped Kiibo impatiently.
"Open your eyes stupid, you're gonna miss the best part!"
Kiibo kept his eyes shut, "I don't appreciate the name call—" and suddenly he was being shaken by the boy next to him.
His eyes flew open, big purple eyes right in front of him. The cart shook due to the abrupt movement as they approached the top.
Kokichi saw a slight pout on Kiibo's lips, still looking wary as the lights reflected in the cool blue of his eyes. It was kind of pretty to look at.
He quickly averted his gaze the moment the thought crossed his mind. He's getting delusional!
They reached the top, neon lights of every color down below reflected on the metal roof above them, giving the inside a light purple hue. The whole fair was in view from where they were, and the stars littered the sky adding to the beauty of the scene. Beyond that, tiny lights from buildings in the city continued.
Kiibo and Kokichi watched in awe as the cart came to a stop at the top of the Ferris wheel.
"Whoa," Kiibo murmured, taking in the sight and now it was Kokichi's turn to feel a swell of pride. Before he could even brag about how amazing he is, Kiibo turned to him with a grin on his face, "Thank you for showing this to me!" Typical robot over-exaggerating about every little thing...
Kokichi felt taken aback, face heating up slightly. Kiibo's face suddenly felt too close. His pale skin seemed to glow in the lights and his eyes had flickers of gold from the reflections of the decor above them. Even his hair seemed softer than usual. He looked almost angelic.
If Kokichi showed any reaction, though, he recovered quickly. He needs to research what kind of chemicals they use to build these things.
"Of course, Kiiboy," he flaunted, placing a modest hand on his chest, "And look, you completely forgot that we're 40 feet in the air!"
Kiibo's eyes widened and his eyes flicked quickly down at the ground, almost as if he was being forced to. His body visibly tensed and he scooted back a little more as his grip tightened once more on the handlebars in front of him. Okay maybe Kokichi feels a little bad, but this is a way more comfortable situation for him as opposed to that...intimate one that had him all weird.
"Yup," he said in a strained voice, still clearly trying to lie to Kokichi about his fear of heights. He would've loved to tease him about this if he wasn't so focused on the feeling of Kiibo pressed against his side (something he seemed to do unconsciously while he was shitting bricks apparently.)
"Stop being a baby, just enjoy the view," Kokichi droned and pointed to the ground, "Look there's Kaito and Shuichi! They look so puny from up here." He laughed, and Kiibo squinted down below to see them. Once he saw the tiny purple and blue speck, he couldn't help but giggle at the sight, spotting some of their other friends as well.
Slowly the ride started moving down again, much to the supreme leader's relief. They paused at each stop, and Kiibo became less stiff.
"Hey guys!" A shout came from below, about 20 feet now. Miu stood at the bottom waving at them, her voice a little faded. Some other passengers gave her a look of disapproval, which she ignored.
"Eh?!" Kokichi sneered at her, "Are you stalking us creep!" The cart moved down one more spot.
She guffawed, "As if. I heard Kiibo's cries and then your annoying ass voice, I needed to make sure he's okay."
"Hey!" Kiibo protests went ignored.
They moved down once more only about 5 feet from the ground now and almost face to face with Miu.
She waved it off. "You guys look fine," she smirked, "A little too fine, was he giving you a handy up there?!" She pointed an accusing finger at Kokichi, laughing loudly in his face.
His face flushed, being caught off guard, "Of course you would think that you whore!" He shouted, but before he could even finish, their cart was being pulled back to reach the exit, his voice fading at the same time.
Kiibo turned to him curiously, "What is that?
The door opened and Kokichi immediately stepped out, Kiibo following after.
"Doesn't matter," he laughed it off and grabbed the robot by the wrist, "Let's go on the bumper cars!" And as far away from Miu as we can.
Kiibo complied, after being dragged into three rides, he learned there was no arguing when it came to Kokichi...
