racing down the stairs, i turned my head and scanned the house for anything i had forgotten to pack. that's when my attention was caught to the living room.
the clean living room.
jeongguk must've put the blankets back into the ottoman before leaving yesterday. how thoughtful of him.

i was sat on the stairs of the front porch when jeongguk finally arrived at my house. without checking my phone camera, i already knew my cheeks and nose were red.
it was getting closer to autumn, the daily temperature dropping gradually in return. so i guess my rudolph-esque appearance is what made jeongguk giggle when i came running up to his car.
"why do you get cold so easily?" he questioned with a big smile on his face.
"well if you must know, i don't know the answer to that question either!" i shivered, though shortly turned into a sigh of relief as i got into his car.
"fair enough," he shrugged as his fingers pressed the heater icon nestled amongst the various other buttons, just below the car's radio window.
a rush of warm air started filtering out through the car's ventilation system. i instantly leaned forward so i could cup my hands in front of one of the heaters, warming them out of their - what felt like - frozen state.
"nova's all good, right?" he asked as we began driving off for uni.
"she is." i responded while rubbing my hands together, "i lent her my keys so she can take my car. told her if she scratches my car i'll scratch her face. just to make it even." i added jocosely.
"i wouldn't have expected anything less from you." jeongguk clicked his tongue as a smirk formed on his lips.

since peak hour traffic hadn't begun yet, we were able to arrive at university faster than usual. and currently, we were now making our way to the corner cafeteria near the campus.
it was amazing how close i had become with jeongguk in the considerably short time i've known him for. it was something about the way our conversations were able to flow so easily whilst concomitantly remaining so entertaining.
